I joined this site because being a newbie pupper I really didnt know what to do but through the magazine and the website yall have made my camping experience wonderful. From how to get my water system working (old camper I am restoring) to the firestarters firefyter EMT those are wonderful. The PUT magazine also helped alot as well. The whole nine days we were camping I had the best campfires in the park. This is a wonderful community and I am proud to be a part, Im kind of quiet but read every day numerous times. So thank you PUtters and I am very happy to be a member.
cartooncaracterChuck and Beth,
I agree with your thoughts. I have gained a lot of knowledge here.
cartooncaracterAmen!
cartooncaracterI was afraid you were going to say that the PUT magazine makes a good firestarter!! (I haven t tried)..... Congrads on being brave enough to tackle a restoration. Share before and after pictures of your work. Most people here enjoy that stuff.
cartooncaracterI had been PU camping for several years when I found this site. I still learned a lot and hope to learn more. I have found that anyone, from beginner to long time PU camper can learn from others on the board.[:)]
cartooncaracterCC, I think we all share your sentiments about the site and the magazine. Good to have you with us. And the fact that you are restoring an old Apache always makes our eyes light up. We have two other members who own (and love) 67 Skampers (wish I still had mine!)
As someone else said, " restoration" is a subject dear to all our hearts. So I hope you will share the details of what you have done so far and are planning for the future. Those old Apaches were pioneers and they are now a cult object (appropriate for people referred to as members of a " cult," eh, gang?)
cartooncaracterCC -
I d love to see pictures also. I grew up camping in Apache s - first with regular ole tent sides and then with a hard side PU. It would bring back fond memories to see the old Apache s again.
