Hi,
When I purchased my new trailer we were given a certifiate for 40 free nights of camping in Gettysburg PA. Over this pass weekend they called an asked if we would come up and see what they had. After getting all these control numbers we decided we would go. I have a bad feeling about this? I am sure money is the name of the game. Has anyone out there played this game yet?
whitestar505Sounds suspicious... but you won t know until you get there... or...
Give them a call first, and get them to fax you confirmation.
Just my $0.02
Have a great day! [:)]
whitestar505We got something like that when we purchased out new pop up and we went and (not sure of company)they tried to sell us a membership to a camping club of some sort, can t rember but it was in the thousand dollar range. HTH
this was back in 1999
whitestar505I m sure it is some kind of membership sales program. To use the campground you probably are agreeing to at least a 2 hour presentation. To me it would probably not be worth the trouble. My family time is more important.... especially if the campground is not one that I would be going to on my own anyway.
whitestar505It sounds like a membership program. I would call back and ask what you had to do to get the " free" camping. What campground are you going to? Some people have had good trips once they got through the sales program. Good luck.[:)]

whitestar505And then, down the road a year or two, after the corporation that set all this up have made the big money on the initial sales and paid themselves outrageous " salaries" and dividends, will either sell the business, file for bankruptcy, or just walk away and leave it with you. Then, no one keeps up the campsites, facilities, etc., until someone else buys the camp at a " fire sale" from the bank and then starts charging you through the nose to keep using it, if, in fact, they even honor your contract with the previous owners. Like most " time shares," they will make the initial money then bail out and leave you high and dry. Go " enjoy" the campout if it s somewhere you want to go, attend the sales pitch, but do not[/u], I repeat do not[/u] buy into their scam[: (] Just take the freebies and move on down the road[:D]
whitestar505Since I don t know who the company involved is, it s hard to say what to expect. I received a like offer from " 1000 Trails" resort when we purchased our Sea Pine. After doing a little checking we decided to take a look. Even though we decided not to join, we did get to enjoy a great trip that only cost us about 45 minutes of listening to a very painless sales pitch. Had a great trip that cost us nothing.
