Post by: cartooncaracter on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
Anyone going out for the long weekend? And if you are where you going? We are going out to a local SP just to hang out and get away. The best part of camping to me is doing nothing LOL. So thats on the agenda.

cartooncaracterWe re camping locally this weekend too.  FPUC is camping at a SP that s about 20 minutes South of me.  We re only staying 2 nights though.  For some reason my company decided not to give us MLK day off this year.  Oh well, it will be a really fun 2 nights and that s what counts.

cartooncaracterthe single campers group I formed will be at Koreshan State Historic Site nr Ft. Myers, FL.  Most are tenters.

anyone interested in history can do a google search and will find out that the community buildings make an interesting tour as does the history of this transplanted religious group.  They died out because they practiced celibacy and thought people would be coming to add to their numbers. NOT!!

They believed that the earth was closed and we lived on the inside.

Hey, Lori, if you have time, perhaps you can take a run down and meet the SCAMPERS.

tlhdoc: Will try.  Wife bought me a digital camera for Christmas (even though I got it last week).  Still trying to figure it out but if I get it working, and if I understand it, I ll post some pics.

Wish me luck with the camera.  Camping I understand.  Still a bit vague on computers and digital camers.[8D]
