Title: Ft Wilderness camping
Post by: AlaTex on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
Planning on going to WDW and camping at Ft Wilderness (1/31/03 - 2/6/03) for the first time, although we have been to WDW several times, but first time to camp there.  Any suggestion or tips?  Any one else going at same time?

AlaTexAlso try site www.wdwinfo.com for Disney info and links.  Go to the supermarket outside Ft Wilderness - the trading post has a huge markup!  Get to CG before ck-in time if possible. We waited in line (in car) for a long time. You can ck-in early and park somewhere in CG if your site isnt ready. You can t use your car to get around inside of CG - bring bikes, walk,  or call bike barn [ 407 824-2742] to reserve a golf cart. Golf carts are 40+ a day but so much fun and worth it if traveling with kids. If you use Amex to reserve etc you get some Amer Express goodies on checkin. Have fun - we are going in April!

AlaTexWe take out a loan and go every three years (that s how long it takes to pay the loan off, lol!) and this year is the year!  That was me (Cheyino) that posted the question on the Disney boards about whether they will let my dog(s) stay in a soft-sided camper - thank you Tim for replying to that.
We get to go to Sea World and Busch Gardens for free while we re there (thanks to hubby being an A/B employee) so we always have loads of fun at those places as well as WDW.  We will be going late May/early June.
Like AlaTex this will be our first time at Fort Wilderness (rather than sneaking one extra kid in the All-Star hotels), so when you guys get back let us know everything you learned!  [:)]
