tlhdocHi Kathy, The leaves should be pretty nice about then (probably not quite peak except maybe in the higher elevations!) around Stratton Mtn & Jamaica SP! They are no where near peak here in Central VT yet. They had a little more color about 50 miles north of here this past weekend. It will still be very beautiful, especially if the days are bright! Have fun!

tlhdocWe re headed to Lake Kissimmee about 3.5 hours northwest of Miami can t wait to head out. Wish we were headed to Hickory Run though, Hickory Run was my favorite place to camp when we lived in Jersey. I only tent camped there and we re hoping to put together a trip with the popup for next August to visit friends and family in Elizabeth NJ and King of Prussia PA. Hickory Run will be one of our stops, both my DD s have seen pictures of the boulder field and are looking forward to see it in person. I miss that area I loved growing up there but FL. has it s good points too, like year round camping.[:)] Have a great time, hope the weathers good.

tlhdocWas suppose to have headed out early yesterday (Wednesday) morning and returned about noon Friday.  Then I found out I had to be in court Wednesday[&:].  Could have gone to court and still gone camping but then I got sick[:@][:@][:@]!  Still made it to court but no camping.  It s now Thursday evening and this the first time I ve felt half way alive for the last 4 days.

 Oh, well.  Maybe next week.

tlhdocDoes camping in platform tents with 9 5th grade girls & a couple of other parents qualify???  I d rather be in my PU!!  Especially as the weather is expected to be quite fall-like - low 60s in the day & 40s at night.  I think I m gonna miss my furnace!  Yep, looks like I ve gotten soft with my comfy home away from home!

Seriously I m just hoping the " whine"  factor doesn t drive me crazy!  I doubt many (if any) of these girls have camped in the fall.  To top it off it s our first time camping in our GS troop.  I m beginning to wonder just what I ve let myself in for!

 Wish me luck!

 Sharon

tlhdocWish we were going. Didn t do as much camping as we would have liked. We had a very busy summer with family stuff. I also don t care to camp in the muggies and the weather wasn t that great. Although I didn t mind camping with some rain. It is either that or not go.
We just had to move our office home a couple of weeks ago.....some person living upstairs apparently left his water running in his sink and the ceiling fell on my desk. Not a ton of damage but it was a mess. So we got a u-haul and  brought everything home in 2 days. My house is a mess....office stuff everywhere, but it sure is nice working from home.
We are talking about winterizing the camper before the snow flies and catches us off guard like last year. We had it open and had to wait to get a dry day to be able to close it for the winter. It got rained on, and snowed on. Sounds like our weekends are still full. It surely is a sad time....and so soon...seems like summer just started. :(

tlhdocI am camping at Wolfe s Campground near Lafayette Indiana this weekend. I am going to march in the Purdue alumni band. We camped there two weekends ago and had a nice time. Two weekends ago we stayed in the primitive sites which are right along the river only $14.50 per night. This time I got elect. It should be a fun weekend. Last weekend I went to camp Luther hills near Angola Indiana with a bunch of 7th and 8th grade confirmation students. The camp is a church camp associated with the ElCA Lutheran church. It s a nice camp. I had never been there. They have a nice family campground. If you belong to a Elca congregation you can camp there it s nice. Hickory Run is a nice place. My family used to camp there a lot when we lived in Bethlehem Pa. I think Columbus day weekend is the best weekend to camp in the Poconos.
