 Gone-CampingHi Cliff,
Is it worth going to? A couple years ago we went when we were in search of a camper but I dont recall see much other stuff other than RV s big and small. We were a tad disappointed. They gonna have some awning people there? I could use a replacement. What cha think worth going to??

Gone-CampingPretty much all RV shows are basically, well... RV s. Guess that is where the name comes from! However, last years show in Va Beach had PU s... Coleman from Camp-a-rama, more Colemans from Gloucser RV, Rockwoods from Va Trailer sales, and Palomino at Snyders. Dodd RV was there, but I don t recall seeing any of the Starcraft s that they sell.

Can t tell you much about the Richmond show, I ve never been to that one before. However, it s supposed to be much bigger than the Va Beach show... Guess I ll find out since I m planning on going to both of them!

Gone-CampingSo what were you thoughts on the RV show-yup lots of RV s there! [;)] Actually I went looking for some aftermarket folks that would sell awnings and campground directiories etc. I didn t expect steaks (yes frozen beef), pots and pans, massagers and some of the other junk I saw there-I guess you sell it were you can. Saw some pretty cool RV s and campers and checked out the  new  coleman roof. I do like that it has the Yakama tracks on it!. For $19.00 admission though I was a tad disappointed.

Gone-CampingYep, I agree totally with Global Concepts.  I went to the VaBch show on Friday afternoon and although they had lots of RV s of all syles, we were hoping to see more aftermarket dealers and vendors, not vendors selling heating pads, frozen foods and other non camping related stuff.  I am considering upgrading my TV in case the DW and I decide to go to a 5th wheel sometime down the road and I did learn a REAL lot about 5th wheel trailering which will definitely the deciscion on a new TV.  But, I was unimpressed with the vendors other than actual RV dealers that were there.

Gone-CampingWell, I spent the better part of Saturday at the show, and yes, the frozen steaks on a tooth-pick were ummm, well, they tasted like frozen steaks on a tooth-pick...

I was real disapointed in the Pop-up department, only Camp-A-Rama had them there, a full display of new Coleman s. Trouble with that was, I live right down the road from Camp-A-Rama, and have seen everything they sell, even Larry (sales manager) knows me on sight! I wasn t surprised that Dodd didn t have any Starcraft s down there, I think they stopped carrying them. And Va RV Sales didn t bring their Rockwoods either, though I know they still have a ton of them, and had a big display of them last year.

Since I m making serious plans to upgrade to  something  bigger, I did a lot of snooping at the bigger rigs. Though I walked through a couple of MH s, I really looked over the TT s and 5 ers, and have to say, I m just as confused now as I was before I went in there.

And yes, I ll confess... I did make a verbal agreement with Jeremy Snyder (Snyders RV) to buy a used 5 er he has on the lot if he can find me a truck to tow it with, and include it in the deal. Guess we ll see what happens there!

Oh, and I climbed up and down so many of those trailer stairs, that by the time 4pm rolled around, my right knee was killing me, so I called it a day and went on home.
