Title: RE: I have no patience for loud, inconsiderate campers
Post by: Gamecock Camper on Oct 06, 2003, 12:07 PM
CajunCamperIt s a shame that those people couldn t just monitor themselves.   I think that most, not all, people are pretty reasonable when they reallize that they are in a situation where they are bothering others.  It seems that they should espeically be aware of their noise level after the ten o clock hour......  It looks like you handled it the same way that I would have.  There is never anything wrong with being direct, firm and assertive in letting them know that they should keep it down.

CajunCamperIf something 5 3"  and good looking had asked them to calm down, they would have laughed me right out of the campground.[8D]

CajunCamperOccasional noisy and/or rude campers are a fact of life.  Fortunately, most campers are decent people (the worst folks are too lazy to camp).  I d say 95%-99% of the time, we do not have to tolerate, confront, or take other action due to noisy or rude campers.  but every once in a while, we all run into it.

I think everyone should feel free to come here to rant about it, because we have all had to deal with it.

CajunCamper, your post inspired me to pump out another piece of fiction.  Watch for " FICTION: Quiet hours are for the birds!"  in this group.  It s a satire from the noisy, rude camper s perspective, coming to a pop-up site near you.

CajunCamperWe haven t had much trouble with noise, but we have had a lot of trouble with people not staying on their site.  We ve had 2 experiences this year; in July tent campers took over our site which contained our fire ring and table -- they took theirs and ours and had about 15 people for 1 site (park couldn t do anything as the people we were talking to were only volunteers and said it was up to the ranger, but they d report it.  The last time was at Indian Lake and people were just letting their kids run directly thru our site as in between the 2 chairs were were sitting in, throughing things in the lake right where we were fishing, and just screaming the whole afternoon.  Never corrected them once[:@][:@].  For 2 days we couldn t really fish nor could we carry on a conversation as the kids were traveling thru constantly.  These folks were also in a travel trailer and the kids were roaming (ages pprox 4-10) at that age right on the lake, I feel is dangerous.  I guess they thought we d watch them if they fell in [:@] (of course we would have pulled them out)
