 Firefyter-EmtAct girl, are you packed and ready to move?  Sounds like you are going in circles with last minute things happening.  Try to stay calm as things will fall into place very soon.[:)]

 Firefyter-EmtOk,  take a deep breath ! it is ok that we can t take it this weekend. Don t worry about it.  Selling your house is a lot more important than giving us the popup. No need to be sorry , as you provided the answer by Tuesday, which was my request.

 When will the purchaser know that they get the insurance (Is the underwriter the insurance company for their mortgage ?) They sure took their time ! Any time line ? It must be a real disappointment to hear that, I am sorry that it gets delayed on and on. Ours buyer delayed their firm up three days after their offer expired if you remember. I still recall what I went thru.

 Wishing you best of luck with the house, both fo them.

 As for the next weekend, It is 18 th and 19 th right ? We would most probably be able to make it.  We can also celebrate the selling of your house by then we we arrive [;)]

 Is there a Wally World near by ? As I will definitely need some ball hitch thingies ...... Will let you know if next weekend is a go as soon as I can.

 Firefyter-EmtOK, just got off the phone with the Attorney - Tomorrow we close on this house and Friday on our house!  [:D] [:D] [:D]

 Yes, the weekend of the 18th/19th is fine and there is a Wal-mart one exit up, as well as an Inn five minutes away (if you need it)!

 The end is almost in sight!  I have to go - the baby is crying!

 Acts 2:38 girlYesssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !

 I am so happy for you ! At last it sold !  I will bring a HUGE bottle of Ontario wine to celebrate ! You guys drink wine right ? We will all drink till wee hours of Sunday, my DD and DS will baby sit the three boys ! We want your DD right wit us so we can see her beautiful face and play with her.

 Then with that hangover we will forget all about the PU, or Wallmart will be closed that day and we won t be able to tow it back with us and come back empty handed [8D]

 Ok, on a more serious note, we will probably be somewhere close to your place Saturday night. We have to do the newspapers on Saturday. I think we will come over for breakfast on Sunday, and have lunch, and leave with the PU after dinner. How does that sound ? [:D][:D][:D][:D]

 Ok, more serious tone, we visit you Sunday morning , how about that ? If you have coffee, we will gladly have some coffee with you. Go voer the PU, Obviously I will need stuff to tow it out. If Lee can tell me what I will need, I will get them in Canada, so we won t be delayed once he teaches us about the PU. After hitching up, we will hit the road, so that we can arrive back home Monday late afternoon.

 As I never towed before, I will definitely stay at a motel Sunday evening.

 You might be going to the church Sunday morning though ...... I am sure we can work the timing out  if you always go .....

 Looking forward to meeting with you folks once again.

 I have one simple question. If I can not import it to Canada, thru no fault of mine, will you guys take the PU back ?  I have no reason to believe that  I will have a problem importing it, but, just in case. Covering all bases, that s me.

 Yesh yesh yesh,  PU, my PU, my very own PU !

Cliff,

 I thought about camping on the way back to home, but decided against it. Having almost no experience with the PU, we might damage it on our first outing. And, it would take time to PUP it and un-pup it and with my health right now, I don t want to get tired doing that. I get irritable when I get tired, and driving is sure to tire me out anyways. SO we will check into a motel, and watch tv and relax .....

 If the weather holds when we come back, I sure will pup it out and sleep in it in the driveway though !

Any chance you can skip it (not trying to be offensive, jsut asking) ? Maybe we should do this on Saturday if Sunday is not a good time ? We were hoping to be on our way around noon or so, maybe I should aim for Saturday ? Would that be better ?

 Acts 2:38 girlWe will do the newspapers on Saturday and leave around 5 am. We have to skip Sunday and pay for it  to be done by someone else.

 We should be sleeping somewhere close to you saturday night. Sudnay we were thinking we would meet with you in the morning at a time suitable to you. Hitch up and go [:D] Naaa, we want to chat with you and spend some time first of course, if that is ok with you.

 I am thinking, with the mandatory run to Wallmart, we will be leaving around noonish or so, which gives us some time to cover some distance Sunday afternoon. We want to be home Monday late afternoon. Knowing myself, I will be driving slowly to make it home back safely, and need the time.

 So, if you could skip it, we would be grateful.

 And, did they close yet ????????? Any news or does it get done at 4:30 pm like In Canada ?

 Firefyter-EmtThis is what I need, I guess registration will do just fine ...

 Our governments web site says that I have to pass by US customs and tell them that I am exporting the trailer, and show them the title. I guess if there is no title I can t do that.

 Trailers*

 *  Recall clearance letter
 *  The vehicle must bear a manufacturer s valid statement of compliance label at the time of importation, otherwise a manufacturer s letter of compliance will be required.
 * The Registrar of Imported Vehicles will mail a Canadian statement of compliance label to you
       after passing the federal inspection.
 * Valid alpha-numeric 17-digit VIN
 * Lighting
 * Reflectors
 * Travel trailers only - Manufacturer s cargo capacity label if manufactured after April 1, 1999

  And I thought you were in CT ?????? you mentioned Mass laws ..... Are you guys trying to send me to the wrong state or what ? [8D][:D]

 And ... Is there a statement of conformance label anywhere on the PU ?  I am assuming there is a label/plate with the VIN number on the PU.  These import business guys are dead serious with their requirements :)

 No title is ok, and we need to write and sign a bill of sale bettwen ourselves, doesn t need to be notarized .....

 Firefyter-EmtDo we have this on the trailer with the VIN ?

 All trailers appear to be admissible as they are cited on Transport Canada s
 > List of Vehicles Admissible form the United States as admissible in Section
 > 2 - General, revised August 2002. This vehicle must bear a Statement of
 > Compliance label affixed by the Original Equipment Manufacturer stating that
 > " the vehicle as manufactured to comply with all US federal emission, bumper
 > and safety standards on the date of manufacturer" .

 Importing is a lot more complicated and costly then I thought, sighhhhh. I am trying to sort out the mess  right now ........

I spoke with the manager of the place where the PU will have to undergo a federal inspection, and mentioned that the hitch has been modified. He said, any structural modification makes the units inadmissable. I jokingly said, maybe I should t have mentioned it, and he said that any federal inspection agency would be able to figure out modifications to the frame, etc. I am going to go and talk with MTO (Where they register and give licenses for all vehicles) and get their opinion on it. And go to another inspection station as well.

 birolGee.. That kinda stinks for you. I really have no bad feelings about you not buying it at all.. I think for what the camper is (Basicly a tent box, With no options) I woulds seriously think about looking for one up there.. You have to be able to find a camper for 2 grand or so.. Sounds like the range you may be spending to get this one.. and IMHO, it is not worth that much..

 If you all do not not hear from us for a while, it is because I am trying to get the new house hooked up for the internet.. I have to wait a couple weeks for DSL which is going to kill me.. and I have to fing a way to get a dial up modem working untill then.. Keeping in mind, I have to have my computer for work use.. Worst case, I set up shop at my Dad s house in Mass and work from there untill I get DSL, But that wil really stink and leave everyone alone...

 Well my friend good luck, and please don t sweat it if it seems like it is not going the way you want it to..

Our customs exchange information, that s why there are no exit checkpoints ....... They would make a note the windstar coming into US, and while going back to Canada, I would definitely get into trouble.

 Same for anyone who goes back to states without the trailer, they would be asked what happened to it I guess ....... I am so sad & upset  [>:]

Thougth about it, they would ask for the registration papers, lost is meaningless, because based on VIN, they can always issue new registration papers. They would know at once that this trailer has never been registered. And you can not get anything without it ever being registered from a dealership. I gave every possibility a long thought before having to  give up [:(]

 birolSo, what you are saying is, that if I went into Ontario with DH and our camper, and while there decided that we didn t want it anymore and sold it to someone, we would get into some kind of trouble?   We couldn t just tell the customs people, " we decided to sell the camper to a friend"  ?   I mean, really, is it that bad?   No subterfuge or fibs, just downright honesty, we sold it.   Oh, but then you would have made money and would have to pay some kind of duty, right?   Okay, why couldn t you have  given  it as a gift?   Never mind, I just haven t had enough coffee yet this morning.  It s making me babble.
