Joe BuskirkWe just got back last night from a 10 day trip to Goose Point Campground on Philpott Lake in Bassett, Virginia. What an absolutely gorgeous campground!    We were supposed to come back on Sunday but just couldn t make ourselves leave so we stayed one more day.    We got there on Saturday the 4th and bythe next evening were one of only about 5 other campers until Friday evening for the long holiday weekend.  It was great!   A nice, quite campground with all our favorites.....super clean bathrooms with hot showers, large private wooded sites, a lake for fishing, and mountians close by!

We visited several other campgrounds in the areas we would venture out to just to get an idea of other places around...RJ Ranch,  Meadows of Dan, Rocky Knob (on the Blue Ridge Parkway), Horseshoe Point and Saltbranch (both at Philpott).

 It was a wonderful trip.

We are going to Drummer Boy in Gettysburg PA this weekend. It is the Holloween weekend. About 1/2 of the sites decorate, it is a good time for all. They also have a dance on Saturday night (in costume), all have fun...

We just returned from a wonderful weekend at Sonoma Coast SB. Had an enormous site and BEAUTIFUL weather. Temperatures in the mid-70s and had the beach almost entirely to ourselves. We camped Saturday-Monday, so predictably, Sunday morning people started rolling out of the campground and that was nice too!

A great weekend! Except I will say it was so moist that the tree above us began raining on my canvas that I just cleaned the previous weekend! Small price to pay for the wonderful weekend we had.

I have to say that it's weekends like this, when we get sand all over ourselves that I'm glad we have the shower. It felt soooo good to hop into bed right after taking a nice, hot shower inside the popup.

I hope others got in some good camping.

We're headed to Highland Hammocks SP at Sebring on Friday, and as usual we can't wait to pull out of the driveway. Weather is suppose to be great, this is the best time to camp Florida. So for all you snowbirds from an exsnowbird come on down and enjoy one of our great State Parks. Happy Camping :)

Me.... Me..... Me.... I'm going this weekend.

Heading out early Friday morning for a relaxing weekend down on West Point Lake, GA.

I can see it now...... College football on the ol' radio, sitting around the fire..... a couple of brewski's....... taking in all of the fall colors... what could be better than that!

For those who are not getting out this weekend....... I'll be thinking of you.

     Keep your kindling dry,

      Hoppy

No actual plans yet, but I've been tossing the idea around. It's going to be rather cool for this part of the world, but that is the way I like it.... Great "Sit around the campfire" weather!!! Maybe heading for Newport News Park just to get out for the weekend!

We're headed out tomorrow toward Gloucester, Virginia. Going for the Halloween camping trip. I've never been anywhere for the halloween festivities...we usually choose the mountain places in the fall but it just sounded like so much fun. I love halloween and seeing the kids all dressed up.  I miss making a costume for my son every year.

Supposed to be a gorgeous weekend. I love it when it's cold enough to enjoy the campfire!  I'm excited. I have my new halloween tacky lights, table cloth, and lots of goodies for the kids.

Hope everyone has a wonderful fall weekend!

We are too :D   Even though our plans got changed from being out 3 nights down to 2,
we're still getting out.  We were origonally going to head out tonight........now it's tomorrow night, and much closer to home than we had wanted.

But I'm not done for the season yet
Still have a Ladies weekend coming up in Nov, may have to winterize before then tho.

Change in plans, but definately heading out this weekend. I have reservations at Pocahontas SP, however only going up for Saturday night. I talked with Louise this morning briefly, and decided to head up there to take a look around, go over the site's and other amenities. This will help me put the Spring Fling planning into better focus!!! :D

I would like to go camping, but we just got home from  a 14 day trip and DS doesn't want to camp.  I guess I shouldn't, but I want to. :(

We would like to go away this weekend for one final outing, however do to various commitments we are unable to get away. The trailer is now stored in the garage until next season.
