Title: Long Trip Review...Should I Post?
Post by: Turn Key on Oct 31, 2003, 08:29 PM
As some may remember, DW and I got back from an 8-day trip to the Grand Canyon last Thursday.  That 8-days included a lot of side trips and other details.  Have been working on a review of that trip, on and off, since we returned and it's just about complete.  Only bad part is it's going to run 8-9 pages:eek:!   I've sub-divided it with a lot of headings to make it a bit easier to find what you may want out of it but that is still a lot of material.

Two questions:
1) Should I post something that large here under "Reviews" for who ever wants to read it or should I post that it's available and e-mail it to those who ask for it?
2) CAN I post something this large in the "Review" section without causing a problem?

Just don't want to muck up the system or take a lot of band width for something no one wants to read.

Happy Camping!

If it's all text, then it probably wouldn't take up that much space or bandwith. If you have a problem with it, just let me know and I can probably place it on my site and let you link to it there. Now, if it contains a lot of pictures or something, I'd have to re-think all this (can handle some pictures though)...

I would like to read it, either here or in email form. :)

Turn Key,

The new board has an AustinBoston filter :D ; it limits a single post to 10,000 words.

If you go over that, just break it and put the additional in a reply to the original post.

Cliff,
Thanks for the offer.  I very well may take you up on it.  I may hit that 10K "AustinBoston" limit on this one:D .  No pictures but a heck of a lot of words:eek: .  Hope I don't put anyone to sleep!

OK you have made us wait long enough. ;)    Post the story and if you need to finish it as a reply to the original post, like the moderator said.  Come on you are teasing us now. ;)  :)

Well, got it finished and it came out over 3X too long.  It's late in the day for me and I've got to get some sleep.  Will break it up tomorow and post it that way.  Until then, it's also posted on the competing message board that goes by three letters;) .  You can see it there if you just can't wait.

Goodnight guys and happy caping!

I wonder if you can copy and paste it in here without having to retype.  It might be worth a try.:)

birol, did you report your own post as having nothing to do with camping?;)   I am just going to wait for the camping trip report.  There is bound to be plenty of good stuff about camping, campgrounds, travel experiences with a popup on the way to the campground, places to avoid, places to sightsee during the camping trips.  Why would anyone want to report a post like that?

The post will be about camping Birol so even if you report it, nothing will happen. :D   Except you will make moderator1 angry and then you will have your similes taken away. ;)  :D
Title: It's Up!
Post by: Turn Key on Nov 02, 2003, 08:25 AM
Well, it's up. You'll find it under "Campground Reviews" ->"Mid-South".  Had to post it in five parts. Hope you enjoy it and it was worth the wait. Would help if you could let me know what you think.

Well, I just finished reading of your adventures sounds like you had a great time. Makes me want to take an extended road trip. I made a trip around the Good Ole U.S.A back in 1984 with my kid brother and the Grand Canyon was one of the natural highlights. I agree that pictures of the canyon don't even come close to doing it's beauty any justice. Looking forward to my next trip around the Good Ole U.S.A. with my DW and maybe the DD's if they still want to hang out with us. Glad you had a great and safe trip and as you I believe there's no place like home but it's sure fun taking the long way home. :)

For those who want to camp there, some helpful information was included in the trip report.
