Here's the "rules":
* Please be as creative as possible.
* Please throw all reality to the wind.
* Please add only one or two items to the "Ultimate" pop-up, to encourage others to contribute.
* Follow-ups are allowed, but only after others have contributed.
* Please don't make me wish I had added more rules!
I'll start.
The ultimate pop-up will be light enough to tow with a Geo Metro, but will be big enough to sleep twelve people.
Austin (That's two items)
The ultimate popup would have tires that turn so that you can easily move it by hand into the desired position in any campsite, and should also permanently affixed screen panels on the awning so that you only have to raise the awning to have your screen room already up. (Not sure on the logics of how that would work but no one said it had to be logical)

;)
Let's see, first of all a big basement like the class A's have to store all my "stuff".
House type king size beds with "real" mattress & box spring sets or water bed for those that like them.
32 CF side by side fridge.
200 amp 220 volt wireless electrical service so I wouldn't have to draw that %$##^ cord out. They can make computer networks wireless, so let's make out electrical service wireless. Wouldn't that be great for dry camping?
Speaker of wireles, now about a hoseless water system as well (Pun inlended)?
Full size shower, dish washer, and auto power for moving and leveling!!
My ultimate pop-up would have complete push button control set up. One button does it all, raise the roof, make the beds, set up awning and screen house, auto-level, etc, etc,
Sorry Austin, I know thats more than two things.....but only ONE button! LOL,
Cheryl
Lemme see, not having had any, this is a challenge ! here it is :
1 ) I would expect it to completely slide out on both sides doubling/tripling the floorspace.
2 ) I would be able to close it under rain, and (No mildew) nothing bad would ever happen to it.
Auto back up, so you can't laugh at us when we back in after dark on a hot and humid night.
It would also have sound proof and light proof window shades that can be adjusted to let natural sound in or it would block all sound from entering or leaving the trailer. And the shades would also have the adjustement that would not let light out (so other can't see the shadows for privacy reasons) but would let the sunrise shine though if you wanted it to.
It would have screens and windows on the ceiling of the bunkends so that you can see and feel the outdoors on nice days and nights. Watching the moon and stars while laying in bed. :) The bunkends would also have see through vinyl windows so you could still see out on wet or cold or hot days when you need to keep the PU closed up.
Some of my "must haves" have been covered but here's more:
1) No lube bearings, slides or lift system...EVER! Also, a friction-free hitch system requiring no WDH or sway control.
2) Silent (near-silent is OK. Don't want to ask for the impossable:rolleyes: ) heating and AC system that will maintain a variable temp range between 60 and 80 degrees inside the unit regardless of what the outside conditions are.
3) Radar/Sonar location finder for hitching. DW has the hardest time getting me located under the hitch:( .
Well, you said to "throw reality to the wind":D Have more but tried to follow rules.
Happy Camping!
It would have to have space-age tenting material that would deflect all moisture and repel radiant heat, unless the air temperature dropped below 60 degrees.
What about an independant electric drive system, eliminating backing issues and hook up issues.. Then add an auto leveling system.
Those are my two inputs..
Push button "Set-up" does it all, levels side to side & front to rear, cranks top, extends bed ends & slideouts, auto deploy of awning & screen room. Just press the button, stand back and watch it set itself up...
Oh, and a refridge at least as big as the one in my Hybrid!
How about a price so low that we can't mention it on the internet?
Austin
1. Self-cleaning model (especially nice for families)2. Automatic exterior color changing device for custom colors to match tow vehicle.

Funny...those were the two I instantly thought about. I frequently have to move our ATV trailer (heavy) by hand, and wish I had electric motors on the wheels.
How about a timer (hours and minutes) for how much propane is left at the current usage rate?
Larry
Radiant in-floor heating...
or central air....:W
heated lazyboy recliners covered in an allweather fabric that automatically slide out to within 5 ft of the firering when the top is popped on the camper. pull in, push a button, camper pops up and out, chair glides out, fire- poof- is lit, sit down, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Add in my indoor popup fireplace (with mantle) and staircase leading up to the screened in rooftop patio containing a grill, picnic table & benches, swivel/rocker/recliners, 72" projection HDTV screen with surround sound, dish (installed & calibrated by Cliff) and a big telescope. (All setup by the continued one time press of Cheryl's magic button)! LOL ;)
I don't care what features it has as long as it comes with a nanny and a housecleaner (PopUp cleaner?) :J
It has a SECOND button on that remote. When you press it, the camper has claws attached to a winch that pulls your TV closer, hooks itself up, applies the safety chains, and plugs in the wiring. Then it gives your TV a soft "toot" to let you know it is ready to go!

I know...I know...A 1 piece roof that doesn't sag!!!!!!! Was that mean???? Maybe I am dreaming. Ok, how about an exterior that is some what easy to clean with out black streaks and all! And a hot tub for you and all of your friends (that camp)!
How about a hitch that automatically attaches the camper right up to to the tow vehicle along with the breakaway chains, lights and everything?

See my post 2 posts above yours.

This may be the ultimate accessory for the master PU. A travel port that gets you to the campground in seconds. No TV needed. :D

I think Tracy may have trumped us all. However, getting there is sometimes a lot of fun! Don't ask me why, but I like towing!
