If you noticed my other post I just made, you can tell I was bored on the way home from work. I counted atleast 6 houses with Xmas lights still up and it s almost Feb. I m glad I didn t put any lights up or I d be the 7th house!
Cheers
GiffsterWe are number 8.[:D]
GiffsterI don t have any Christmas lights still up, but I do have a wooden reindeer still standing in my living room and a little talking Christmas tree on the table...LOL
I ve just been too lazy to take them downstairs yet and put them away.
I could hang a valentine heart necklace on the reindeer and then he would be back in " fashion" [;)][:D]....What do you think??
Giffster# 9!
Giffster#10, Who here in the northeast can " find" their lights on the front bushes? [:D] Ours are buried and will most likely remain that way till Spring!
GiffsterDitto! Ours are up and going to stay up until the temp gets above zero by a fair margin!!! I don t mind the lights, but when the wreaths are still up on Easter Sunday....
GiffsterWe didn t put the outside lights up this year and I put all the indoor stuff away the day after! Some of my neighbours still have the out door ones up, looks kinda silly now. The kids still like to see them though.
GiffsterOurs are still up but we don t turn them on. With highs of -11 C here in Southern Ontario can t get DH out there to take them down. [;)]
GiffsterI m with you Giffster. I didn t put any lights up this year, and I don t have to take any down either. I think I ve started a new tradition for myself.[:)]
Giffsterlike most the inside lights are put away but the out side will stay up until the snow melts. However we don t turn them on
GiffsterOurs are still up and probably will be until it gets a little warmer and until I want to take the time to get them down. Nearest neighbors are about a half mile away. I doubt they care.
GiffsterI m Guilty. Still have ours up. And still lit. Oldest DS and I have a bet that we will be the last to turn them off. They are red, white and blue so maybe they will be taken down after Independance Day. Who knows, it might warm up by then.

I guess that means ours... (#15 in this thread), will be up til about June or July at this rate! Right now its - 47 with the wind chill. About -32 without the wind!
GiffsterWe still have orniments in boxes in the kitchen, manger still set up, light-up houses still set up with fake snow, and window cling-ons up! If I put Christmas lights up, they d be there till we move this summer!! With all the " fun" stuff this baby is doing to my system, it s truely an acomplishment if my little boys get out of thier jammies before noon (for me-why bother?!) Isn t there a saying about keping the Christmas spirit all year long? Just doing my part! [;)]
Acts 2:38 girlI hate to admit it[&:], but I am with you. With everything that has been going on, I have not had time to take down any decorations (inside or out). I guess I will have to find the time to do this in the near and dear future[:D].
GiffsterAnd I thought it was cold today in Chicago....brrrrrr....
Lights stay up (not lit) til a warm, non-windy day when you won t get blown off the ladder. We routinely celebrate MLK day by taking down the tree and decorations inside; we bake cookies and play Christmas CDs. See, we all have the day off and that s how we do it!
Giffsterthose aren t christmas lights just tacky lights on a house! [:D]
GiffsterOur outside lights are still up too ( but not lit). It is not like it is too cold here to take then down ,it is just that we have not got around to doing it yet[8D]. Two years ago we left them up all year and they still worked when Christmas came around[:)]. Saved DH all the work of putting new ones up.
GiffsterI had to laugh when I saw this thread. No outside lights for me this year (couldn t go up a ladder when it was time to put them up, so didn t bother). And, I just realized I forgot to take the wreath down outside. Tonight I was talking to a friend about the SNOW (we got 7 1/2 inches last week in TN) and she said she turned her lights back on since we actually had snow. If it felt like Christmas, it needed to look that way, too!
GiffsterOurs stay up all year, but not lit. It was the only way I could get the DH to put up lights. He was fine with them, as long as we didn t take them down. We just bought new lights after Christmas, so I guess after the snow melts, the old ones will come down and the new ones will go up [;)]
GiffsterWe didn t put any lights up on the house...but finally took down our x-mas tree couple of days ago.
rednekrubbrduckno lights outside this year, decorations and outdoor reindeer got snugly stored away right after new years. HOWEVER, I still have a christmas wreath on the back of my front door. A friend of mine sent me a real wreath for christmas, it is still green and I can t bring myself to throw it out until it falls apart from me closing the door
rednekrubbrduckmy lights are still up and at this point the lights on the bushes are buried with snow so they ll have to wait till we have some melting. This is the latest I ve ever left them up and on. I did unplug them from inside the house though today...so no lights for us outside tonight! I kind of like it though...I might leave one tree lit with small white lights for fun the rest of the year!! I think it looks so pretty at night.
rednekrubbrduckWell, it isn t too cold in South Carolina (it was around 68 degrees and beautiful today), but there is a house that has had their Christmas lights AND decorations up for the last 15 or so MONTHS. They never took them down last year, but they did plug them in for Christmas this year..... I originally thought the house was abandoned or something....
rednekrubbrduckStil three trees up in our living room, but then they never go down, just remove the orinments and look like indoor greenery (trees are tall skinny evergreens in concert pots) but they still have the lights on them.
Out side is just to cold, wreath, lights and graland around door are still up.
