Title: Will ya still love us?
Post by: LoadedCamera on Feb 02, 2004, 08:01 AM
Okay... I have a serious question for the group.. We attended the Charlotte Camping Show this weekend and just about fell in love with a new camper.

It has the room, the slide out, the sleeping space and the full bath with shower. It also have a 6cu ft Refridg with a seperate freezer, oven and microwave.

Its basically a home away from home..

The bad part is that it is not a Popup... :(

Its a Frontier by KZ and has the 2405PQS-F.
http://www.kz-rv.com/frontier/frontier_index.php (//%22http://www.kz-rv.com/frontier/frontier_index.php%22)

It has a pull out for the queen bed, but is a hardside. It is lightweight (4800lbs) and has a GVWR of 7000lbs).

We hope that if we decide to really pursue this, that we won't be abandoned by the others on this site!

Also, if we do decide to move forward with this trailer, we will have our beautifully maintained and cherished 1998 StarCraft StarStream for sale if anybody is interested!

Hey, it will take more than a "change of RV address" to lose your place in our hearts.  Someone will be lucky to get your StarCraft--they STILL make a really good product, unlike some other companies (unfortunately)

I love the support of the board!!!  DW and I are still talking on the decision to go from no payments to payments for our camper..

Its a beautiful thought and with the possibility that DW won't have to slip on shoes and a robe and grab the flashlight to go to the restroom in the middle of the night, that is leaning us that way.

I guess we are getting older and need the luxuries of home around us more.

Its nice to have friends that appreciate you even if it looks like a TT and not a PUP!

Someone once said that if it pops up or out, then you belong on PUT.  So with the pop out for the queen bed on the end, even if hard side, that's still some kind of hybrid, so I don't see any problem with your being welcome.  In fact everyone is welcome because camping is a common thread that holds us together.  Many of us were tenters before moving over to a popup.  Then, for whatever reason, some of us decide to move on over to hybrids or TTs.  No matter what, it's all about camping and sharing that common bond.

Well,  all I have to say is if it pops up or out you are always welcome!  OK, I'll broaden that a little, as long as you enjoy camping you are welcome!

Not to worry, as Cliff has said - many folks have moved on to hybrids.  As a matter of fact with our additional pulling power we may be looking again in the spring.

Sounds like you already on the way to sign on the dotted line.  As long as you are still camping that's all that matters.  Keep us informed.

In one of our trips to the many RV dealers in & around NC we looked at these down in Asheboro. These wee very nice looking. Just not what we were looking for at that time. I liked the way they looked the wife did not. She was like we would still have crawl over each other, I was like "YEAH what's the point!"
You will enjoy this camper and having the extras.
Good luck.. Hey I am still here for a little longer I hope! and I have TT.

It seems like plenty of folks are moving on over to hybrids and TTs laterly.  I can't wait till the RV and Camping show next week.  I have to check out the best size and floor plan for us...and the best prices, too.

No so sure how close to signing we are.  That means another payment each month.  Trying to figure out a way to sell the popup, and find other monies to help pay for as much of it as possible.

But, if we do get the cash together, we are looking forward to seeing what kind of deal we can get.

Its a pretty camper.. and it pop's out the back.. That should be enough criteria to keep us here!!!

Have you thought about trading in the popup?  You might be surprised at what you can get for it.

And a tax break ? Do you guys get that when you trade in behicles like we do ?

Disclaimer : Canada Rocks ! It is just that some of us are silly and we pay  all our money in taxes and get a second mortgage to pay more taxes.[/b]

It depends on what you trade.  Sometimes there is a vehicle use tax when something is bought, even before getting title to the vehicle.  There always seems to be some kind of tax.....or a fee which is really a tax in disguise.

Also if you can itemize on your taxes and do not have a second home already, you can use the interest on the camper as a deduction.

When we sold our other pop up, I put it in our local paper in February and it sold in like one and a half weeks.  Might try a small newspaper instead of the big one in Charlotte, cheaper and may get more interest if there are limited number of campers listed.

Birol, everyone was probably at work.  Also, anytime taxes are mentioned like the question you asked, people immediately get a headache from crunching numbers.  So they disappear by going and taking 2 aspirins and planning their escape as a camping trip as soon as possible.

In all honesty, we were really surprised on what they offered us for our popup, thats why I'm attempting to sell it outright!!!

We are going to sign on the dotted line next week!!!!  WE ARE MOVING UP!!!

Its a beautiful trailer...  And so is the one we are selling!!!  If anybody is interested, its listed under the For Sale section...
