Post by: julecav on Feb 22, 2004, 09:55 AM
Our new to us camper had a couple of spots of mildew on the bunkends and when we pick it up we want to clean it and re water proof the bunk ends if need be. What have any of you guys used and did it work or discolor the vinyl??

julecav,

We had lots of mildew on our AAR last summer. Used the PopUPTimes awning cleaner with GREAT results. This year, the awning cleaner has been replaced with InstaGone (http://www.popuptimes.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=P&Product_Code=insta&Category_Code=) which Dave says is 5X better. (If Dave says it's so, then it's so). We haven't tried it yet, but if it's as good as the awning cleaner then it's a winner and EVERYONE should carry a bottle with them!

As for waterproofing, what to use depends upon the material used by the manufacturer. There isn't one product that will work on everything and some materials can be damaged by some of the products. It's best to call or email the manufacturer & ask what to use.

Check with the manufacture and see what they recommend.  It depends on what the material is. :)
