i saw this, i thought i pass it on! http://www.trailerlock.com/ (//%22http://www.trailerlock.com/%22)
I had seen this product a while back. I'm certain that would have prevented my first Popup from being stolen.
I poured concrete in the ground and I'm using a massive chain to secure my camper these days. Had I seen this product first, I probably would have bought it instead. The key is to prevent it from rolling. If they simply hook up the safety chains, they can roll away with a camper than had some sort of coupler lock.
Two attempts at stealing my campers. They got the first one when I still thought a hitch lock was worth something, my later security measures kept my second camper. ;)
I would hate to forget it was on the wheel and try to tow the trailer. :D
I have several hundred pounds of concrete in the ground with rebar criss crossed through the biggest chain I could find. I have TWO locks connecting it to my camper frame. I removed one, forgot about the other one. I am now VERY confident nobody will be stealing my camper!!! I came to a sudden stop. Everything was fine, but I was a little embarrassed. :o :p
I bet someone with one of these tire boots forgot about it at some point, and made a rut in their yard.
thanks a lot.... I ordered one. I especially liked the "installs in seconds" bit.
i also downloaded their free Trailer Security Guide.
I finally got mine but haven't put it on the PUP yet. It is in a friends garage, so there is no need at the moment. With it being bright orange, there isn't much chance of not seeing it. Especially when it takes my DW and the two DS to guide me to the to the camper.:o
We also ordered one.Haven't had a chance to try it yet. That'll happen next week when we take our Chalet on its maiden voyage.
Alright you owners, let's see some pics of that sucker in action! I also want to hear if it is as good as advertised.
Seems Cabelas has the same lock and it's significantly cheaper at $54.99, definetely interesting in purchasing. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jhtml?id=0001921012240a&navAction=jump&navCount=1&indexId=&podId=0001921&catalogCode=IE&parentId=&parentType=&rid=&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fcatalog%2Fitem-link.jhtml.1_A&_DAV=search&hasJS=true
Hi Corey,
Thanks for posting the link. :)
cool, corey
Don't think we'll get one. We always have a ours in the driveway and one of the cars parked in front of it. They'd have to take/move the car first and with the state of our cars, no one wants them.
