Well, as of today the move to Atlanta is officially on. The house will go on the market Friday, but the sign is in the yard!
I really don't think I want to see another can of paint or tube of caulk for a long time.
The thing that amazes me is why we didn't do this much work to the house for us to live there??? :confused: We clean it up for other people :D
Isn't that the case :( ? I am convinced that the only time we may live in a finished house again is the week before we sell ours too.
Good luck, Tim.
Tim, our house in Brookhaven was SOOOO beautiful the day I put it up for sale; I looked around and thought: "good grief, we did all this hard work and now someone else gets to live in this pretty place." Oh well, we ended up in another pretty place and so will you.
The next few weeks will be GORGEOUS in Atlanta so I hope you-all get to spend some time there while things are in bloom.
Tim, Good luck with the move. Hope all goes well and easy.
Good luck on the move and hope your house sells fast... one less worry!
Tim,
Do you guys buy and sell a house, say every three to five years ? Whatever the time frame is for you to stay in an area ? That is a very difficult thing to do :( If you are lucky you can make some money of course, but you could also loose a lot of money ...... I sure wouldn't want to do that. The fact is my father was an officer (in the army) and we moved every to two three years, but those were subsidized army housing and were pre-arranged, so they didn't have to search or anything ....
Some folks (like us) shouyld move every three years just to get rid of the junk. We filled a 15 yard dumpster in a few hours when we moved out here. There was ten years worth of junk to get rid of (and we had a pile outside every trash day for months before that).

I hear you Tim;
The sign just went up on our lawn yesterday... and we have our first showing this afternoon. I hope she goes fast... as I still have to fly out to Alberta and find a new house out there.
Good luck with the sale of your house... and easy travelling to the new location. Have a great day!
Tim good luck on your move. enjoy the weather and longer camping time, but it gets very hot in the summer
Tim, it sounds like you did the right thing by getting it looking great for the showings. That way you should get more money with it in good shape. Buyers will look at bad paint and caulking and any other repairs to do and deduct from the price. Hope the sale and the move goes well.
Hi Tim;
Here is a question... do theyu have online listings for homes in your state? Here in Canada it is called MLS Listings... and you can look at homes all across the nation. Here's the listing for my house:
http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.aspx?PropertyID=2376760 (//%22http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.aspx?PropertyID=2376760%22)
It would be neat to see your place... albeit online and not in person...
Hope you have a great day... and a quick sell!
Well, the house actually went into the MLS Thursday morning and folks started "demanding" to see it.
Two visited on Thursday and about 5 on Friday.
The two from Thursday and the first one from Friday all made offers and it looks like the house is now sold above our asking price. It is a nice feeling to have three buyers all trying to get the house.
I guess it's time to start looking for a house in Atlanta.
Wow, congratulations on all the interest! I hope the first buyer works out okay!
I hope you are still comming to the Eastern Ralley in Gettysburg.
Good luck with selling the house and the move. Do you have a place in Atlanta picked out? :)
Congratulations on the sale of the house! We haven't had the traffic through our place yet.... but I hope we end up with the same type of competition for it as you.
We have one showing this afternoon and recieved word of a potential offer sight unseen from Vancouver... but they want to close in April. We can't move out before July 8th, so I guess we will let that one pass by. :(
Good luck finding a place in Atlanta. DW has a cousin who lives just North of Atlanta. When are you heading there to look for a place?
So, is it done ? Is it a conditional sale ? Did you sign it back yet ?

As it stands right now, the rally should not be a problem. We had originally planned on getting there Saturday, but now our tow will be a little longer.

We have a couple of areas that interest us, but its really hard to tell just looking on the internet and a map.

Thanks, we may need the luck. It's a hard decision to make in a 10 day house hunting trip. Actually, we are concentrating on some neighborhoods north of Atlanta. The H/H trip is near the end of April.

Totally nonconditional sale with one stipulation being that we get to set the closing date. It actually won't be "done" until the contract is accepted by our relocation company early next week.
