Well, we're on spring break. Somewhere back around Columbia, S.C., we lost the tread off one of our PU tires. Put the spare on and all is good, thanks to the trucker who let us know before it really gave way.
Anyway, we're going to go get dinner now, but if anyone has any ideas where I could get a new tire tonight in or near Jacksonville, or easy-on, easy-off tomorrow between here and Key Largo, we'd appreciate a tip.
Current tires are Duro, load range C, B7813ST. We don't want to wait around in the morning for things to open, so if it's tomorrow it would be better if it was south of here. Cocoa maybe? (DD wants to go to Ron Jon's anyway!)
BTW: Are Duros the right thing to buy for replacement?
Dave
If you can find a Wal-Mart they may have a tire/rim combo that might be the correct size. As for the brand they don't have Duro tires. At least my local one doesn't.
You might want to check a PU dealer. They would be more likely to have a DURO brand tire. Good luck on the hunt. :)

Thanks, folks. We held our breath w/o a good spare until we got to the Keys. We never could find anything open on Saturday. Picked up a new tire there. Wasn't a Duro, but had to take what I could get.
We ended up putting the other new one on the camper and the remaining original tire on the spare location for now.
I was surprised we only got two years out of the first set of tires, but that does include 10K of longer trips and a bunch of shorter ones.
Wear was uneven across the tread, with the edges being more worn.
I know that on a car this could be a sign of under-inflation or over-load, but we have been careful on both. Tire dealer said alignment on trailers isn't what it is on cars, and therefore, they can wear this way.
I'll keep an eye and see, but if I have to put tires on every two years, I guess I can live with it. I just won't let it go quite as long as it did this time. The tread largely separated from the tire, but fortunately, it stayed inflated.
Where are you staying in the Keys? We just got back from our trip there on Sat.
I change my PU tires every 2 to 3 years, just to be safe. :)
We stayed at America Outdoors in Key Largo. It was our third year there and it was great. The weather was wonderful, not the rain/storms they're having now. Sites at A.O. are a bit tight but the beach more than makes up for it as all we do in the camper is sleep!
