ROTFLMHO!!!!!!!!!!!:J

My favorite line: "Though, after looking at the pictures, I thought it made me look fat."

Bar buddies and co-workers be damned, the Today Show needs to have this guy on!!!!!  let's start a campaign to get him on there!!!!!!!!

Saw this last night!  Laughed til I cried.  My favorite line?

"Oh, yeah.  I also got three marriage proposals.  Yes, you read it right - three marriage proposals.  I feel like one of those mass murderers on death row.  I never understood how the h*** they got more chicks than I did.  Now I know.  They sold crap on eBay."

Holy Cow!!!   The dress just jumped from $310 to $600 in the last couple hours!

Evenif he doesn't get the $1,200 that the dress costhim, $600 will still keep him in baseball games quite nicely!

Post by: labontefan on Apr 27, 2004, 10:14 PM
It's up to $70,000????? I'm pretty sure that's NOT a legitimate bid. (But if it is, I'm cleaning out my closest and brushing up on my comedy writing skills!)

Toni, this is hilarious!!  Thanks a million for psoting it!I  Have cut and pastec/copied his remarks so that when I get feeling  grim and depressed I can go back to my file and read :S them.

I LOVE THIS GUY!  He deserves to get rich off this dress--and his sense of humor and creativity.:# It is no wonder he got all those marriage proposals! :W

I hope he makes enough to go on a Caribbean Cruise and meet some rich widow he can marry and  who will shortly die and  leave him all her money and he can stand in front of the ex-wife's place and thumb his nose (while flashing his Rolex.)  Livng well IS the best revenge!

If I could find him, I'd adopt him!  But I am laughing too hard :J:J to search for him.

But don't forget Birol, you have to agree to wear the dress and have your picture taken in it, and put on Ebay for everyone in the world to see.  Are You up for that?? (or is it, 'down with that'?)   Surely someone with your imagination and creativity could come up with an even better new idea.

Currently $331,952 ---- can you imagine ebays fee for this item.

Over 70 bid retractions, ranging from cannot contact seller, or negative feedback, e-bay administration (whatever that means). However, I went out to his feedback and there was no negative comments

750,000 No way !!!!! He will end up paying all these fees and it will take him forever to recover it from eBay, they are messing with him big time, poor guy , I feel sad for him.

There was one point last night that it was over $99,000,000.  Been a lot of bid retractions since then.  Someone who might have figured "Oh, well, I've lost" might have found their bogus bid has won due to the retractions.

The thing is, if you place a bid and win the auction, that is a legitemate contract (assuming you win), no matter how absurd the amount.  If he could track the person, he could sue if they don't pay.

Never bid on something as a joke.  You could get nailed.

Oh, and he'd be a fool to not comply fully with any of those high bids.  What if he really did get the money?

Austin

Something weird is definitely happening, the price is down to 23,100 and the bidder who had it so high is not even listed anymore nor is the reason for cancellation.

No  way!!! That's too funny!  I actually wrote to the guy yesterday told him that a bunch of folks at Pop Up Times, a pop up camper magazine and online forum, were watching his listing with enthusiasm and were starting to talk about trying to get him on the Today Show!  Wonder if someone in his house followed the lead and called them!

Newly added to the listing...
Because of the high profile of this item, I am changing the listing to Pre-Approved Bidders Only. To be pre-approved, please contact me at horseplaypublishing@hotmail.com and include "Serious Bidder" in the subject line of the email and I will return your email to pre-approve your bidding on the auction. Thank you for your interest.

Didja see him??  Wasn't he funny???!!!   He had Al Roper slapping his knee when they asked if he was at all bitter over the divorce and he answered "Bitter?  Bitter?  Bitter! Party of one, your table is ready!"  He was very quickwitted, and personable, (cute, even with the tattoos)  is going to have a web site, weddingdressguy@    Oh cripes, now I can't remember.  Help me out someone.

I saw him on the Today show as well.  He was really funny.  Usually after a day or two you can watch reruns of Today Show guests on their website.
Found that out the other day when I watched Prince get interviewed and he had these ridiculous white high heeled shoes on.  I HAD to share that with DH, and sure enough there it was on their site a couple of days later.

Thanks for the link.  This a.m. all my friends were sending me the link to eBay and I just sent them the link to the video and images from the show....kind of like I knew it all before they did. ;)   My daughter just emailed that she still had her wedding dress. I suggested that she could be the ex-wife selling her wedding dress herself.  LOL!  She's been wanting to buy a popup. :!

You have to come up with a gimmick... back in the early 70's my sister had a mutt that had 6 puppies and she couldn't stand to give to SPCA (she's a big animal lover), so she decided to place an ad in the newspaper " 6 puppies - mixed--$20, wanting to send 6 kids to Kings Island, call.....

She sold them the first morning the ad was placed and with all the phone calls she got she could have sent over 100 kids.

Yes, she did have 6 kids and she did take them to Kings Island.
