Harvey, you are  A REAL GEM for posting this follow-up on the internet taxation question.  Finally our congress is doing the right thing and not loading us down with another tax!  :S :W   thanks so much for letting us know the good news!

Now  all of us can sleep a little better knowing that common sense has finally prevailed. :)

There had better not ever be any tax on the internet....or else the originally intended purpose of the net would be defeated. :yikes:

why should someone not pay tax on what they buy on the internet, when they do pay tax on what they buy on mainstreet in our own towns?  I don't get it.  If internet purchases are tax free than what
I buy from my local merchant should also be tax free.

The law isn't about sales tax on merchandise bought/sold on the net. It is about taxing the actual access to the internet (thus, comcast, earthlink, and aol would have to raise their price$).

I've got one thing to say   TAXES :swear:

I recently seen segment (which I can't even remember where I saw it, but it had something to do with when taxes were started), but basically they were talking about years ago, women were able to stay at home and raise the children and men worked and they were able to make ends meet; AND they government was in better shape before taxes.

Now a days, families can hardly make it with both parents working.  On top of that the taxes you pay, both on purchasing and income, things are just getting so ridiculous.

Yes prices are higher now, but so are salaries.  I can remember when I first started working some :swear: years ago, my beginning salary was $1 something.

I also misread it, why would thay tax that ? Money grabbers ! We are paying enough taxes for everything, the company which makes money is paying income taxes ! When we buy the equipment we are paying taxes ! If we use DSL/Cable we are paying taxes ! If we use dialup that also includes taxes !  Leave some money for us to spend too !!!!!!!! Internet tax ! very soon it will be breathing/exhaling tax followed by Washroom break #1 and #2 tax !!!! How would they like a nation who refuses to pay any taxes ?????
