You owe 50 bucks, even if you don't owe it, you get arrested. You owe millions and no one can touch you !!!!!

ONLY in this country can they track you down for a $50 fine, but you can do WAY worse and get away with it (as Birol has said)!  :banghead:   I sure wouldn't want to be in that woman's shoes!

OK, I understand about the rules about not feeding the wildlife.. and I can understand a fine for not storing the food safely to avoid the wildlife taking your food, but......

There a lot more problems in this country then arresting someone for a $50 fine over a year ago.

Look at all the drugs and crime all over that are better tracking down then a person enjoying a vacation for a $50 fine.

Look at all the dead beat dads out there.

The worst part of this was she HAD paid her fine and was still detained for 9 hours before they figured out she was telling the truth.  I have to vote for the disbelief smilie too!

And of course, because they said they were sorry, she's now suppose to go on her merry way as if nothing had ever happened and forget about it.  It is important in wildlife areas to make sure everything is put away, she paid her fine so that she wouldn't be likely to forget that lesson again.   What kind of fine will the govt pay for the things that they forgot to 'put away' (the records that she had paid)   That's disgusting, maybe they needed her $50 to help defray the costs of the Enron scandal somehow.
T
;)
BTW, I realise that what I said doesn't logically make sense, just venting, ok.

:J:J I bet if she tried luring Al with smores, he'd follow her anywhere! :W

We just need someone here to contact the poor soul and invite her to join this group--WE could have prevented this tragedy and unnecessary expense if she had only had the benefit of our experience and advice!
