I couldn't believe my eyes this morning. Here I was driving to work at 5:45 AM and I see an old Ampha Car up ahead. I remember when they cam out with them and have seen them in the water. The man driving this one had the top done and the car was in good shape. The props were nice and shiney and the whole scene was unreal. At least I had a smile on the way to work this morning.

We were at a local campground this past Saturday and there was a guy camping there with one. I didn't know they existed. We watched him take it out into the lake a couple times. He had completely rebuilt it and it looked like new. What a cool idea! I checked the Amphicar out on the web when we got home and there was an article about this same guy on the Amphicar Club website. I think he's from Mesquite, Tx. It is a very unique "toy" and attracted quite a bit of attention at the campground.
Over Memorial weekend we camped at Pinto Lake in Watsonville.
All weekend we were treated to aircraft flying over head from the nearby Watsonville air show.
Then on Sunday, this guy shows up in a nice red aquacar. The kids thought it was neat to see him drive down the slipway and on to the water, and wanted to know if I could do the same with my truck :yikes:

Now Kev, if everyone were driving their cars into the water at Pismo, would you do it too? :p Besides, it's not
MY expedition--it's DH's. If it were mine, that car would have more like 35,000 miles on it by now rather than the 3500 Dave has put on it.
(If it were mine, I would, you know. ;) )
