You have all been very helpful, we still are need help making a few decisions,,,,,,,,hope you can all help. we want to do all the usual things like jockey ridge the aquarium, fort raleigh and pea island, and charter fishing. We aslo want to go down to hatteras and oracocke, should we split out time and camp in by oregon inlet and then move to Frisco or can we just base out of on place/ is the drive between the two place a far drive? ( given we dont drive on the weekend)
How are the national parks in the OBX
I'd recommend staying at either Ocean Waves Campground (//%22htt://www.oceanwavescampground.com/%22), or Camp Hatteras (if you can afford that place) or the KOA, all 3 in the same area. From there you can go north to Oregen Inlet & Pea Island (15 minutes) or Nags Head (20-25 minutes), and also go south to Avon (Groceries-15 minutes), or to Hatteras Light (25 minutes) or to the Ocracoke Island Ferry (30 minutes). You're talking about only 70 miles top to bottom for Hatteras Island...
