I'm convinced this is the place for us. Can anyone that has stayed there reccemend a wooded site on the water, in the back loops?
I had found a website that showed pic's of all the campsites, but I didnt earmark it and now I cant find it,......anyone know of it?

Whewn I was there a couple of years ago, I coud not get a waterfront site, they were booked way in advance.
I suggest that you call the campground, the staff was very helpful when I was there.
I agree, call the campground and see what waterfront sites are available. I'll tell ya this much, you don't really want anything in Loop-A...much too close to the road. I'd recommend Loop-C or D, both have waterfront sites, the further back from the road the better. You may still hear some faint traffic noise on a lake front site though...sound carries across the open water!
Thanks, My hubby want to know how far from Williamsburg is Newport News?

Well, if you're standing there at the city line, we're talking a fraction of an inch!!! ;)
Newport News Park is located right on the city line with Williamsburg, and right off of I-64 at exit 250B, Busch Gardens is located at exit 243A (7 miles)....
