We are taking off a day earlier due to snow forecast on Saturday. We want to get camp pitched before the white stuff hits! By Tuesday it is suppose to warm up again, so I am sure it won't stick. We've packed all our warm woolies and are really excited about camping in the snow.
Can't wait to see the doggie's reactions. Teenage son isn't so thrilled about it, but at least he still wants to go with us.
Have a great trip. :) Hope it doesn't snow too much.
Oh wow....snow???? That sounds like fun. Of course...right now, camping anywhere sounds like fun!
:>
I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE (IN DETAIL) OF CAMPING IN THE SNOW! :#
I hope you have a great time including the teenaged DS--although he probably wont admit it openly even if he loves the experience ;) (That is the way with kids--hard to admit Mom and Dad were right about something they regard as of "dubious" entertainment value, especially if it doesnt include their friends but is just time spent with OLD PEOPLE like parents :J)
We did it once in a tent--very briefly, as you can imagine--in July in Wyoming at high altitudes and it wasnt too bad at all, but the funny thing was, the place was so loaded with MOSQUITOES that they were a much greater problem than the snow.
I took a crew of Boy Scouts to Philmont once; got there right after Independance Day. Got into a discussion with one of the other Scoutmasters, who had just come in from his trek.
His story was that he was on Mount Baldy (those who have been there will know!) with his crew. July 4th, the scouts are having a snowball fight, and those not involved are watching fireworks down below.
Ain't this great country?
Got nuthin to do with popups, but...
