Title: Greenwood Furnace State Park, PA
Post by: tlhdoc on Nov 23, 2004, 07:57 PM
Has anyone ever been to this park/campground?  What did you think of it?  I drove through the campground and checked it out a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't get to check the park out. :)

The swimming area is nice, nice restrooms and beach. It is cool! water though. Very refreshing on a hot day.

I don't have any experience with that particular park, but I do have a lot of experience with the PA State Parks in general (been camping in various ones for years). Those guys spend a lot of time, money and effort to make camping great. I really don't have anything bad to say about their park system.

Most of our camping is in the PA state park system.  The campground at Greenwood Furnace has been redone/it is new.  They are still clearing some trees to make some of the sites bigger.  I just didn't have time to look at the rest of the park.  There is a furnace and historic town.  That is what I was wondering about.  I agree that PA has some nice parks/campgrounds. :)
