Title: tiepohs
Post by: Used 2B PopUPTimes on Jan 26, 2005, 05:08 PM
The last issue of PUT had some typos that more than one reader has brought to my attention. I've even been asked by several, including my lovely wife, if we proof read our magazine before we print it.  Shazam!  You mean I gotta read it first?  :)

As many times as we re-read the magazine drafts trying hard to catch them all, there will always be mistakes. Sometimes we don't catch them until we get press proofs but unless it's an advertiser or a mistake that could cause harm, it's cheaper to just let them go and take the heat.

I'm going to put a "special" typo somewhere in the February issue and the first person to email me about it will win a PUT hat.

How are we gonna know what the planned and un-planned typohs are?:D   I for one don't mind the typeohs.  It just reminds me that everyone is human.

I'll second what OC Campers said. Dave if you want to see typos I'll send you a copy of our local newspaper, I think you would have to try hard to beat their number of typos per issue.

I don't feel bad, I just want to have some fun with them.

Our first editor, Maurice, misspelled the publisher's name in our premier issue back in 98.  I caught that one after it printed and paid to have fixed and reprinted.

Oh, man!  I never have time right away to get to the magazine cover to cover, so this might take me a day or two.  I like to make it last.

Hey Ray....Great stuff on our wonderful state.  but you didn't mention Ca. has the best Karaoke singers :yikes: that Golf game looks cool that you reviewed too.

I like the "align-quick hitching guides has anyone used these??? This would help me alot I wouldn't have to get out and look a zillion times.

He can't fire the guy.  The magazine would be way too lean if he did!  ;)

Now that everyone (including myself) has been singing Ray's praises about his great writing (FINALLY something about California!!!!), someone needs to break out some pictures of his karaoke sessions at Pismo last June!  You know, the "we knew him when" pictures.:p
