Title: Howdy All!!!! Just traded up to a bigger popup!
Post by: Scoobmaster on Feb 22, 2005, 08:56 AM
Greetings fellow popup owners/enthusiasts!

This is my first post here, but I am not new to online forums or popup discussions (used to participate on the USENET group alt.rv.pop-up-trailers a way back ;) ).  My wife and I have been having thoughts of going over "to the dark side" but that would necessitate a new tow vehicle and that is NOT in the budget!  So we opted for a larger popup instead.

I received a flyer from a local LARGE dealer and a listing for a new popup jumped out at me (we were not actively looking at the time).  They had a 2003 model Coachmen Clipper Sport 128 left over (seems they tucked it away and forgot about it) and were clearing it out with the 2004 models.

With THAT kind of markdown ($8890 to $5997) and a decent deal on trading in our trusty 1999 Starcraft Venture 1706, how could we refuse??  We gained a fridge, furnace, 4 feet of box, 7 feet overall, LOTS of bunk space, bigger water tank (UNDER the floor), and a second dinette (the 128 floorplan has BOTH a U-dinette and a conventional "booth' style).  We will pick it up in April.  We can't wait and are itchin' (like i know most of you are) to get campin'!!!!

Wow, that looks like a really nice unit.  It has a ton of seating and you don't have to climb over a bunk to get into bed.  You will get tons of hours of enjoyment with it.  Welcome to PUT,

Jacqui

Thanks for the welcome!  Actually one of our motivating factors to upgrade to a larger floorplan was a recent trip with my in-laws.  We experienced a cold rainy day and got stuck in the popup for an afternoon - quite cramped in the little 8 foot 1706.  We hope the dual dinette seating areas will remedy this.
