Post by: chkster on May 03, 2005, 09:09 PM
How much does it cost in your area to fill a 20 gallon tank?
I just went to a local petroleum station which also had propane..
near 29 dollars for two empty tanks was quoted ... i am going to try elsewhere...

We filled one up for $10 this past weekend.  When we lived in So Cal. it was about $15 per tank.

We charge our customers $11.00 for the 20lbs, $15.00 for the 30lbs.,
and $45.00 for the 100lbs. Then they get a 10% discount off that price if they are a member of our Cathey's Happy Campers Club.

Our Cost is going up each week few cents on the gallon. We have not raised our price since January of 2004. If something dont give soon then we will have to increase a little soon.

In that I'm a L/P customer for home use, our supplier gives us a "special" and every Wednesday we can have our 20# tanks filled (we have to take the tanks  to the supplier) - for the total sum of $7.25 - really don't know what it would be for the regular pricing.

This is, of course, for Shallotte, America (North Carolina).

Gas stations around here are $11.99 - $13.99 for a 20 pounder.  There is a gas supply place (for welders, etc.) that fills it for $9.  That's where I go because: 1) it is cheaper and 2) if one tank is 1/2 filled they will charge what it costs to fill it.  The gas stations will still charge you as if it were an empty tank.

Place near here (Falling Waters, WV) is advertising $9.00. Pity my poor LP supplier, I still have a stack of $6.00 coupons. Man, they hate to see me. Not only do I make their lives fun about our house tank (several gauge float problems - finally fixed), then I come in with a coupon for what amounts to half price for the 20# tanks.
