I went to Lowes today and picked up a 48"x25' roll of Reflectix. Tag said $49.00. When the cashier rang it up it came up $22.99. The receipt showed a 30" wind chime.(http://www.tpuc.com/sepuc/forum/images/icon_smile_shock.gif) I showed this to the cashier and told her it should have been $49. She looked at the reciept and said go ahead. (http://www.tpuc.com/sepuc/forum/images/icon_smile.gif). I said OK and left. Was I wrong, or was it her fault(http://www.tpuc.com/sepuc/forum/images/icon_smile_question.gif)
Flacamper; nearly the same thing happened to me a month ago at Home Depot. I asked a salesperson to cut some chain link for me and when she wrote the price on the tag for the checker she took the price off the next lowest priced chain. Seems the price on my size was blurred. Price difference was about 25 cents a foot less. When I pointed out the mistake to her she told me the same thing yours did.
Way I figure it is you did the honest thing. Doing more may have jeopardized the clerks job plus you gotta figure that mistake was made by a typo from some office weenie, and now the harried clerk has to take the time to rectify it. The store employees screwed up and you did your best to correct it.
Just a short side note; A good friend of mine was in Sears several years ago buying a whole mess of garden tools including a self propelled Craftsman lawn mower (not cheap) He came to worked that Monday bragging how the Sears clerk was in such a hurry he forgot to ring up the mower and how he and his wife squealed tires getting outa there! I was shocked and disappointed. Anyway, you did what you could.
