We've had our reservations for MONTHS and this morning the bad news came. We've been looking forward to going to Yosemite for a year and the National Park Service called this morning to cancel our reservations. They are planning on opening our campground at the end of the month. OH! so close!!!!
The problem now is trying to find a place to camp in its place. I'm going to attempt to use our free nights at Silent Valley, CA. Wish us luck
A similar thing happend to me with reservations for Refugio State Beach recently.
We had reserved a cool beachfront spot many months in advance. Then they have the nerve to cancel our reservation three days before the arrival date due to some silly flooding!
It's only water! My PU is at least 6' off the ground!
That's a real bummer, to plan so far ahead and not able to go.
Hope you have better luck with the new plans.

Call ReserveAmerica and check for last minute cancellations at Lodgepole in Sequoia National Park, or Sugar Pine Point Park in Lake Tahoe. You won't be disappointed in either place, I promise.

You might find a spot at Yosemite Lakes/Thousand Trails. Unknown to most people they have a part of the campground that is open to the public and you have full access to the membership part as well. 209-962-0103 It is only 5 miles from the west entrance of the park.
Or you could go to the NickNeffCough forum and join us later in the year if you want to see Yosemite. Hope that is of some help.

We are sooo bummed out for you! I have never heard of Crane Flats not being open in the early summer. Looks like Tioga Road is going to remain closed for a while, but that shouldn't affect Crane Flats.
We are going to be in the Wawona area 6/26 - 7/1.
How many people are going to be in your group?
When we were in Yosemite (Wawona) the week before Memorial Day, they were guessing that the Tioga Pass wouldn't be open till after July 5.

We have 5 people, 2 adults and 3 small children. You are going to Yosemite right after we were suppose to leave for home. We were so looking forward to seeing the waterfalls and the kids wanted to run into bears so they can practice their scare tactics. Maybe next year.!!!!

My wife Holly recommends that you keep trying at Wawona, sometimes you can take advantage of someone cancelling at the last moment.

My friends are last minute planner type people, and they called the day before they were leaving for "somewhere" and got into the housekeeping camp part of Yosemite. They loved it. They had a PU, but they said the housekeeping camp was a much better location of the park than the RV camp part would have been. It was central to everything. So check it out. Maybe that would work.
