Title: What type ignition for gas appliances?
Post by: Rustyone on Jun 20, 2005, 03:59 PM
Greeting all:

I swear I get disgusted at myself sometimes.  I keep forgetting to ask the sales people these questions.

This is specific to the Niagara.  What type ignition system do the gas appliances have?  I guess that would be the stove/oven, water heater, and furnace.  I'd prefer the electronic ignitors found on modern household appliances because I can't stand lighting a pilot light.  If they don't have an ignitor does anyone know if they can be ordered as an option or modified to include one?

All the ones I can recall are:

 1. Manual Pilot light.
 2. Piazo spark igniters.
 3. DSI. (Direct Spark Ignition)
