Title: lextra lift cables
Post by: cdnrebelchick on Jul 10, 2005, 01:06 PM
We recently purchased a 1978 Lextra pop up.  The cable lift system doesn't go up evenly. How do we adjust it so they go up evenly?

Wow, even my site that lists orphans (closed with no new manufacturers) doesn't list Lextra.

A common lift system for smaller manufacturers was Goshen. Here's their site

Any other identifying names?

There was another leading manufacturer that built cable lift systems back in 1978 named K & L Industries. This was the manufacturer of the system in my 78' Palomino, and since they went out of buisness many years ago I had trouble finding parts for it.

But to make a long story even longer, their system was designed using a boat style winch, that used a main draw cable that was inserted in the middle of a square plate, with there were four eye-bolts one in each corner of the square plate that worked the individual cables to each post. The eye-bolts were threaded, and adjusted the length of the cables.
