Title: Water pump problem
Post by: the lindseys on Aug 01, 2005, 08:57 AM
I just installed a water pump and an outside hose bib on my PU. What I have is the single lever hand pump and I installed an on demand water pump. The hand pump still works through the new pump, which it should, when I power on the 12v pump it works, however I cannot shut off the water with the faucet. This would not be a big problem if I was just using water at the sink (I could switch the pump on and off as I needed water), however with the outside hose bib I need it to shut off and maintain pressure so that I am not wasting water thru the sink. Question: Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a repair kit for the water pump, or do I need to get a new hand pump.

The water pump shuts off based on back pressure. You need a faucet that will stop the flow of water.

Thanks for the input: It appears to be two types of single lever faucets, two way and three way, I guess I need to change to a three way.
