Let's build the perfect campground. Each poster contribute one item they think should be ideal, and I'll keep track of it's features by updating this post.
I'll go first.
Setting:
Austin: It should be on the shores of a large lake (with bass and trout), with a view of...
flyfisherman: ...an opposite shoreline of all trees and hills and peaks, unbroken by any kind of buildings of anykind, i.e., zero developement
tlhdoc: and a lot of wildlife that come close to your camp...but not TOO CLOSE :)
Facilities:
aw738: Wireless internet access (free of course)
CampNFan: Budwiser Trees
BP: Perfectly Clean Bathrooms
Campsites:
vjm1639: large private sites with lots of trees and vegetation separating them from each other.
Climate/Weather:
RVMOMNDAD: With a perfectly clear night, every night, showing a galaxy of stars.......

How about Wireless Internet Access so we don't have PUT withdraws?
Budwiser Trees everywhere...... :!

Set WAYYYY back in the forest, on a small lake with the loons calling early morning and evening. (take your pick, the loons you camp with ;), or the real thing) Wolves supply the night time music.
No more than 20 HUGE sites facing west.
Each site should contain:
Large ground level firepits.
A clean picnic table.
Lots of trees around the camper and a nice sunny, sandy approach to the lake.
And all pull-through sites.
Only one site.......mine

Note to self: Don't use Marcy as an accountant. Has trouble counting to one. :yikes:

I think Marcy covered it all; but I would like to add a plentiful supply of free firewood AND none of those little black kitties with the white stripes.
a few whipper wills as the sun sets would be nice

LOL Marcy's not an alcoholic... she only had
1!! :yikes:
an old joke that fits here:
We don't mind you having an "eye opener". And folks are known to have a beer with breakfast. Stopping on the way to work for a quick one certainly is within the limits, and a couple of drinks with lunch is acceptable.
A quick one on break never hurt anyone, and of course a couple on the way home to help the commute couldn't hurt, and a drink before dinner helps relax you. Wine with dinner is becoming almost manditory and of course an after dinner apperatif is nice, as well as having a nightcap before retiring.
BUt this sip, sip, sip all day long has got to stop.
You know there is a problem when your trash is 99% red cups, cans and bottles. LOL
