Hello again and thank you for your time. i had a day off last week and fortunatley I recalled to phone up to Michigan to palomino corp. to order a replacement owner's manual for my MXL.
"She" told me it didnt have to be a copy of an old manual from 1982 they are all still bout the same.
Sir if you still have (an original) owner's manual for your "pal" does the manual have step by step on how to open the rig useing those poles and springs? Are there photos or diagrams?? THANK YOU!!
Yes, it does have a step by step of setting up the hardsides, unfortunately, no pics.
#1-Lower the stabilizer jacks.
#2-Release the 4 corner latches
#3-Grasp raisor arm(on door side front) with one hand below the knuckle and one hand above.
#4-Pull on arm with lower hand, therefore raising roof and sidewalls.
#5-After the sides come up, place the lift arm in it's support, and slide sleeve over the right front knuckle.
#6-Pull all folding wall sections outward, past center, until they snap into side supports.
#7-Then clip screen door into place, and slide clip over thermostat board to latch opposite side.
#8-Next, pull out beds by grasping pull straps until beds hit the stop.
#9-Fit the support poles into holes in frame, and sockets on underside of the bunks.
#10-Then position the inside bed end tent bows.
#11-Attach the 2 bungees under each bunk-one should go above the support arms, and the other below the arms.
#12-Attach the Velcro and side snaps to seal the canvas to the folding walls.
To lower-Reverse above process.
On the older rigs, it helps to lube the grey slider sleeve with WD-40. Also, things will go smoother if you position one person on the door side front, and another at the opposite rear, and both pull on the lift arms AND walls at the same time. Make sure the lift arms are clipped by the support arm brackets, or the walls may cave in. Also, with the older models, canvas shrinkage may be a problem. So when you set the inside bunk bed bows(These determine you interior bunk height), allow a little looseness, and try not to stretch the canvas too much.
