Title: Noise from Gas Leak Detector
Post by: scappoose on Oct 09, 2005, 04:47 PM
I have a 2000 Coleman Sedona PU that has a CCI Controls Model 7770 Gas Leak Detector in it.  It has been parked for about a week or so after use and suddenly that detector is now beeping.

The last time we used the trailer we only had the propane on for about 10 minutes or so.  I know that the trailer battery is bad and needs to be replaced (waiting until next trip).

I was hoping someone could let me know if the beeping in my detector is due to the trailer battery needing to be replaced.  If anyone has any info that would be great.

Yes it bacuse the battery is low. BUT, the main cause for the battery being low is the propane detecter. It draws a small amount of amperage 24/7 and can draw even a fully charged good battery down in two weeks.

A TIP: disconnect the battery when not camping, not only does the propane detector discharge the battery but discharges it to a level that reduces the battery life.

Mike said it.  The propane detector beeps when the battery power is getting low.  After fully charging the battery, disconnect the battery from the PU with the white clips on the battery wires.:)
