I am in need of a galley faucet repair. Water leaks from the assembly when in use. I am thinking a repair similar to that of home stem replacement. I have priced replacement popup galley faucet sets at $50 - $60 from local rv supply shop. If I must do a replacement, is it practical to consider a standard home kitchen sink faucet set. I recognize to limitation of the popup folding down to travel configuration, but a larger, high profile faucet does have an appeal. I have a 1990 Jayco Cardinal. Any suggestions or experiences welcomed..
The plastic galley faucet in our 01 Niagara cracked from freezing when I did not drain the system for a real cold spell in the winter of 02. Dealer at that time wanted $35.00 for a replacement. I found a used one in a junk shop for two bucks. It was from a bar sink and has a solid brass body that is chrome plated. With a little work it cleaned up beautifully and looks and works like new..It has a high spout which does not interfere with folding down.........

Many people have replaced their plastic RV faucet with a regular house hold faucet. Just make sure you can close your beds without interference.:)
I replaced my faucet on my old westlake with a standard bathroom set from home depot. Worked great.

You can always remove the faucet spout if your worried about clearance. I do and I can store something on top of my fold down galley while going or coming. Just place the spout in the sink.
I replaced my original galley "faucet" with a hot-cold mixer assembly when I added the hot water mod. As a bonus I got one with a diverter and a long hose thingy. I put a hand-held shower head on the hose thingy. It is good for rinsing dishes. Also, with the zipper between two tent panels right over the sink, it serves as an outside shower too. We unzip and run the hose thingy out through the opening. From outside you can reach right in and operate the faucet to give yourself a shower. (The knobs are backward from outside, so you're constantly giving yourself more cold when you want more hot, but hey, nothing's perfect!)

I checked the clearance of the popup in the travel configuration (ie folded down). There is no space for the spout or handles. Could you provide a faucet model number / manufacturer for the suggestion you previously posted.
