I just purchased a 1982 Coleman Sequoia. For it's age, everything is in good condition. What's in bad condition is the plumbing. The previous owner removed the galley and all the plumbing including the fresh water holding tank (he did give me the galley but it needs a new top from sitting in the rain - another story). I have a replacement tank and all the fittings but I cannot find any info on how to plumb this all together.
Can anyone provide me with diagrams or pictures of their setup?
Thanks,
Jeff
'82 would have had a hand pumper faucet without electric. So the piping would be one line from the tank to the faucet and one line from the city water connection to the faucet. That's it. The hand pump faucet would have two connections open and possiblely a third one closed off one for use with hot water.
Thanks, but what about the drain and the placement of the fresh water tank? What pathways do these lines take through the cabinets?
If any one has any pictures, that would be great!
Jeff
Please, if any one can post a few pictures of the plumbing on an early '80s Coleman Sequoia, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm hoping to get pics of under the sink and the fresh water tank. I've looked high and low and cannot find any info online and all the manuals I've seen do not show any of this.
Thanks!

We have a 1987 Sequoia. I can't pop it up right now due to weather, but I'll give it a try when it gets a little nicer out! Not sure if my 1987 model would be exactly the same though. I can verify that we have the kind of faucet lever that can be "hand pumped" or can be used with city water without pumping.
I have an 85 coleman sequoia up at the moment, but I am too looking for the same photos of the plumbing system.
I seems that the owner before me has altered the system by removing the city water tap and blanking off some of the lines that lead to it. I would like to see how the city water is fed to the counter.
I will try to give you some photos of what I have stay tuned.
T-Bone,
Thanks for the response. I'll try to post some photos of what I was left with as well.
To give all a better idea, all my plumbing was removed. The previous owner actually took out the galley and removed all the plumbing. He actually used it that way. It did not even have the fresh water tank.
I have since purchased a fresh water tank from a dismantler. It was supposed to have come out of an '83 Sequoia and be close. After checking it out, the water inlet is on top and too high for the outside filler. Looks like I'll have to re-locate the inlet on my fresh water tank.
Any one have an idea on what glue to use? I want to make sure the glue will not affect the water and still work well with the plastic.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hey Jeff, I have a 83 Coleman Columbia and I can't see that there could be that much difference in the Plumbing. Mine is closed up at the time but I will be opening it within the week to load her up for a trip. I will take pictures and send them to you if you would like. It isn't that difficult, I had to fix my faucet and and replace some lines but not that much to it. Let me know if you would like the pictures or not. There are pictures of mine in the link below.

Steve, Looks like yours is just a little shorter in the box. Any pictures of plumbing that you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the link to yours. It looks good. I have a tear on one end from the previous owner pushing the hoop up into the canvas instead of pulling it up with it. My galley does not look as nice and the wife had to recover the seat cushions. Other wise, looks very similar.
I hope to provide picks of mine soon.
Here is what i got. Sorry it took so long. I have had to do repairs to mine after last trip. Got caught up in a bad storm and lost my awning!!

Thanks for the photos! These are greate.
Two questions. Do you have a fresh water tank? Is that just regular garden hose for the drain? If so, I could have saved money and not baught the clear hose that I did.
I'll be going out in a few weeks (finally!). I should be able to get some pics of mine then.
I hope your rig did not suffer too much damage. Anything salvageable?
Yes it is just standard garden hose, of course it was like that when I bought it,myself I would have gone with the clear hose as you did. And yes I do have a holding tank but it leaks around the threads when full so I just bypassed it. When I dry camp I just undo the hose clamp from one to the other. At one time I did have a T connector so it would auto fill the holding tank but then developed the leak in the holding tank so I just removed the T and bypassed the holding tank. As far as damage from the storm....it wasn't real bad....got the hole in the canvas patched up...pretty nice job if I say so myself....and just put the awning in the shop to have it restiched today at the cost of 10 to 15 bucks so I actually got out pretty cheap after the whole ordeal.Just one other thing when you run your water lines from the upper galley to the lower galley make sure they lay flat when you tip the upper down to close the camper up otherwise when you slide the bunkend in you could cut a line. If you have anymore ?'s just ask. Nice to help someone out for a change rather asking all the ?'s myself..lol
Also, I just noticed we have the same year, make and model TV. Mine is sitting at 190,000 miles. Probably the best vehicle I have ever owned.

That's one sweet looking Coleman! I noticed you installed a battery for dry camping, did you do it your self and if you did could you give me a step by step detail on how you did it. I have been wanting to do it to mine but with all the fuse boxes and resistors and yada yada yada I just haven't done it yet. I would love to do some dry camping but just haven't talked myself into installing the battery yet. I once again have to take my awning back to the shop (again!). Last time out, after fixing the stitching that holds the bag to the C channel, the zipper just fell apart and is now trashed! Seems like it's always something, But that's what makes it fun. Laura (DW) always said I needed a hobby, now she regrets ever saying that...lol. Please get back to me on the battery deal I would appreciate it..thanks again
Does anyone know where to get one of the old-style pump faucets?
Leisuretime-rv.com carries a variety on the pump style faucets. Price range varies quite a bit. Shop around on the internet I'm sure you could probably find one that matches the one you have or get one that's even fancy looking....good luck.
Thanks for the comments on our popup! We got it at the end of last year and just had our first official outing.
The battery installation was not that big of a deal on my unit. The angle irons that hold the propane tank were spaced just right for the battery box and battery. I just placed the box in what looked like a good location and drilled holes. I did use washers and self tapping screws and put the screws in the low spots so as to not have the batter resting on them.
As far as wiring goes, I already had a red wire that I traced back to the power converter. All the fusing looked good at the converter so I just crimped on a connector at the toung end and attached it to the battery possitive terminal. I made another (black) wire for the ground and just connected it to a convenient spot on the frame close to the battery. I have not added any fuses or switches but have been reviewing other's battery mods and will be adding an inline fuse and power switch when time permits. I see these additions as just for estra safety and convenience. Never hurts to have another fuse, or power switch just to make sure.
So far I'm into this for the cost of the battery, battery box, wire, and misc. crimp on connectors. FYI, I got my battery (deep cycle) at Cosco for a realy good price (I thought, less than $70).
My TV has a 7 pin round connector with the center being power and I'd like to get that hooked up as well but I'll need a batter isolator first. With that hooked up I'll be able to charge my popup battery while driving and run off the TV battery if needed. As far as the connector goes, right now the popup has the old four pin connector and I use an adapter that I found at an auto parts store.
As soon as I get my plumbing worked out I'd like to do some dry camping also.
Hope your awning finally get's fixed and you don't have any other problems with it. Getting one of those is also on my wish list. My wife thinks I have too many things on my wish list already!
Jeff, if your 7 pin uses the center pin for the 12 volt aux wiring it is wired incorrectly. Here's a link showing the correct pinouts: http://www.rverscorner.com/wiring/index.html (//%22http://www.rverscorner.com/wiring/index.html%22)

Ooops! That's what I get for relying on my memory instead of verifying/looking things up first!
Thank's for the link.
