Title: PA state park question
Post by: fritz_monroe on Feb 04, 2006, 08:57 PM
I've been looking around on the Pennsylvania state park page and see that they have their camping fees split up into rustic vs. modern.  What's the difference here?  I would have thought that rustic might not have any hook ups.  But I found several parks that have rustic camping with electric.  Possibly the sites for modern camping have a paved pad?

Anyone?

The rustic campgrounds do not have modern facilites.  Pit toilets and often no showers.:)

I wonder when they started doing that? I've been going to the PA SP's for about 10 years now, and I don't ever recall them charging fee's that way.

They have been doing it that way for many years.  Fees vary and cost more for non-resident/resident, Fri/Sat are more than Sun/Thur, modern campsite is more that rustic campsite and electric cost more than non-electric campsite.:)
