Don't be in to much of a hurry to pull the trigger. It seems most of the re-designed vehicles have some kind of problems when they first come out. Don't get me wrong, I love Tundra's, but I'd wait a year or so just in case. I have not had a problem with my 05 as of yet and it has been an awesome truck. Plus, if you wait until 2009, insiders say Toyota will offer a diesel engine for the Tundra.

But then if you wait until 2009 for the new diesel engine, you should wait a year or two, cuz they just might have some kind of problem when they first come out with a new engine.
So now we are up to year 2011 :yikes: ;)
FuzzyMike, just go for it, the new Tundra's sure are nice.
Good luck convincing the wife!
Yes, I have also heard from some insiders that a 3/4 ton truck is in the works for Toyota.
That Toy you have pictured has a tow rating of 10000 pounds. Not too shabby for a 1/2 ton pickup!

Some things are worth waiting for.
What's so great about a diesel? They're noisy, gutless and smelly. The fuel costs more and the mileage isn't that great. Other than that, I guess they're terrific :p
:yikes:
(That'll get me some flack :D )

That's what my DW said. So, I said, Let's go drive a Duramax.
She's changed her mind. Hopefully, I have a Duramax in my future.

PS: The diesels in the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are anything but gutless.

Not to mention those Duramax diesels are as quiet as anything. I think my Tundra with the Flowmaster muffler on it is louder than a Duramax. Don't mind wavery, he lived on a boat for awhile and I think he has GIS. (Gilligans Island Sydrome). LOL

Without a doubt. I heard of a guy at a govt testing facility that had to ask if it was a diesel or gas. Nevermind the thingie on the door that says "Duramax Diesel." Point being, it was quiet enough he had to ask.

I think wavery has been foot-pedaling his boat Flintstone-style too long!
Just kidding with you, guy. I don't think I have formally said, welcome to PUT. Have enjoyed your expertise on various things, particularly canvas/cloth stuff.

I know that the first year is taboo most of the time. I have a 2000 Tundra that I bought used at 30,000 in April of 2003. It's a first year model and I have not have any major problems. They are supposed to have a HD Tundra also. Told DW she could have my 2000 and and we could get the 2007 for me. She didn't go for that one. :( Have to think of a better one. We went to the Auto show and she wants the 2007 Camry also very nice.
