Title: Good outdoor heater advice
Post by: Camping Coxes on Mar 09, 2006, 12:30 AM
I need to purchase a small outdoor heater, one that takes a small propane tank and is a manageable size.  My daughter's softball games are on cold nights, even here in sunny So. Cal.  Any advice on a good one, or on one to stay away from?

I have a small Coleman heater (sport cat) made for outdoor use, that I use at times. http://www.coleman.com/coleman/colemancom/detail.asp?product_id=5031-700 (//%22http://www.coleman.com/coleman/colemancom/detail.asp?product_id=5031-700%22) .  If there is any wind the heat will blow away.  You need to block the wind from the heater.  If you put the heater under the chair and drape a blanket (make sure it will not blow onto the heater) around the chair the heat will come up around you.:)

There is also a couple of different sizes for the "Mr. Buddy".

I bet they are all gone now, but Lowes and Home Depots were selling the Mr. Heater Portable Buddy's at 37 bucks, essentially half price.  People swear by them and they use a 1 lb disposable propane tank which will last up to six hours...

Run and check, they were going fast.  I got mine...
