I've been reading the forums here all thru winter while DH & I were deciding on whether or not to ditch the tent and buy a pop up. We've been using a lot of the advice posted and attended an RV show to check out the models and did lots and lots of internet shopping/research.
The result is the purchase of a 2006 Jayco 1206 without the shower/toilet or a/c. We live in Saskatchewan, the east-central portion of the province called the Parkland area. Most of our camping will be done within a 6 hour drive from home and even that will take us many, many trips to get in all the provincial campgrounds which are just wonderfully maintained. Our camping season is not a long one - May thru September, but with a popup and a furnace we can include the shoulder months in our plans. We also have a couple of 60-pound labrador retrievers to help keep us warm at night (it sure helped in the tent a few nights last year in northern Saskatchewan).
We'll be picking up the pop up at the end of the month so my questions may start then - in the meantime - hello from another popper-upper.
Welcome to PUT. I think you will enjoy your new PU and it will let you extend your camping season. We camped in February this year and it was down to 8 or 9 degrees F overnight. We didn't use our water system except for the sink drain and had a wonderful time. I would love to come and camp in your neighborhood some time. The pictures I have seen are beautiful. Good luck with your new camper.:)
Welcome aboard!! Congrats on the purchase of your New PU!! You'll have alot of fun with it, and you cant go wrong with Jayco. We have a New 1207 model and we love it. Happy Camping..............Ed C. :sombraro:
