Uh oh.  That's what I get for growing up in a family that's originally from Indiana, even though I was born and bred in So Cal.  I hope Dave doesn't kick me out of the house.  No Yankees allowed in our house--only Red Sox. :D

Boy, that's even more Yankee than me!

One thing that's important to recognize is that the definition of "Yankee" changes based on where you are.

If you are in central Asia, anyone from the US (and probably those Canadiens, too) are Yankees.

If you are in the deep south, anyone further north is a Yankee.

Funny thing happens around New York (where the term originated).  Instead of "anyone further north IS a Yankee, it changes to anyone further south ISN'T a Yankee.

So griffsdad, take heart in knowing that those New York Yankees are not really Yankees, despite the name.

Of course, a true Maine Down Easter knows those Red Sox aren't really yankees either, ayah.

Amen, brother.  According to the test, I was 91 percent Dixie.  I was born in Miami too.  Lived there until I was ten, then moved up to N. Georgia.  We were in Naples and the Keys as much as Miami, still have kinfolk in Naples.  I am somewhat of an anomaly, though.  I love saltwater fishing and the sight of the ocean, but I get seasick and can't stand the taste of fish.  The folks said I must have been switched at birth.

:eyecrazy: Thats because I've lived in many parts of the country.  Lets see; grew up in WI, IL, an MI: lived in Boston an NH as a hippy, in OR briefly: then back to WI for a few more years, till the extreme cold drove me to FL.  Stayed there for 20 years till time to retirement then around the west till finally setteling into AZ.  So tolal year in northern midwest I guess 40 years, FL 20 and everywhere else about 6.  Boy, am I confused but then that goes with age too.

I took the test twice to see where I would fall.   The first time I took it I scored a 33% Dixie.  I gave the answers I would normally give.  Since I am from West Virginia ( but I haven't lived there in 20 years) I did a second time using the answers I would have given if I still lived in WV.  Man, 78% Dixie!  I guess when I tell the DH my relatives are rednecks I wasn't lying.
