Title: air conditioner installation
Post by: sequoyausa on Apr 23, 2006, 08:17 PM
What is involved in installing air conditioning on a popup? Does the roof need to be braced? Is there much involved wiring? What is the approximate cost of installation? Thanks for any expertise.

Welcome to PUT!

Some trailers are set up for an AC unit and others are not.  If your roof is AC ready and you have a 14 inch square roof vent you are set to go, just pull the vent and install the AC in the same spot.  If you don't have a vent you need to cut a hole in the roof.

What PU do you have?

The unit on my Taos is self-contained.  Only wireing that is needed is for power.  It runs down the side and into a receptical under the seat.  I imagine they are not that difficult to install, especially if they go in the roof vent and you already have that.
