Title: ABS roof
Post by: sequoyausa on Apr 24, 2006, 08:53 PM
Does anyone know if the ABS is already braced for the addition of an air conditioner, or if it needs to be added at installation. I have look through all my info. that I got with the Popup, but it doesn't say. Thanks for any info!

If it has a brace made out of square tube running from one side of the interior of the roof to the other it is a/c ready. I cant remember if the brace was standard or optional.

IIRC from 1999 to the end of the ABS roofs the bracing was standard. Previous years the original owner could get a no cost retrofit of the brace.

Raise the top, step inside, and look up....if you see a brace going across the ceiling then you're good to go!! You can't miss it if you have it....

The image below (please excuse the mess) shows the brace. At the very top of the picture you can see the A/C grid, and just beyond that is the brace going all the way across the ceiling (between the a/c grid and the light)...

Thanks for all the advice! If it EVER quits raining here I'll open it up and look. Supposed to be sunny by the end of the week!
