Title: waterproofing canvas & caulking roof
Post by: kamwam on May 01, 2006, 05:04 PM

I need to waterproof my canvas on the pu.  Can anyone tell me where I can purchase the waterproofing and what is the best way to do it?  Is there a special type to buy for pu?  Also the caulking on the roof needs to be done.  Is there a special caulking to use or will any kind work?  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  How much of each do you need?  I know it depends on the size of the pu.  I have a 92 Jayco-14ft box.   Thank you!  :)

If you contact Jayco they will tell you the proper product to use on the tenting and the type of caulk to use on the roof.:)

I was in Camp World on Monday with a similar question about caulking. They directed me to a self leveling caulking for roof repair. It's a bit thin and will run to all the voids where a traditional thicker caulk will not. If I remember right it had something like hypalion in it, the local RV store had a similar caulking with the same ingredient, but a different brand. They both told me it's the stuff to use for roof sealing around the vent, seems and edges, or on patches.

Good luck.
