Post by: PITPOP27 on May 02, 2006, 03:21 PM
Well, we set out last weekend and we always to a taillight check and blinkers, our right taillight was out, checked the bulbs wasn't that...hmmm, ok well we gotta go :p

Our friends were following and said it flickered, anyone have this problem and if so how did you solve it?

Could be a bad ground, corroded socket or a faulty bulb. Those sockets aren't the greatest. They get corroded up pretty easily. It's a good idea to have a couple spare bulbs on hand. Stick a new one in and see if that doesn't solve it. A little sanding inside the socket and dielectric grease may solve the problem also.

Check the plug on the PU and see if it is clean.  I had a problem and it was the plug on the PU.:)

Yup.. there is an intermitant connection going on.
It could be the filament in the bulb is loose getting ready to go all the way out.
As others have suggested a dirty socket, a loose wire to the socket at either end.

more than half of all trailer light prbs have to do with grounding that would be the first thing i would check

I think that he is talking about the trailer plug where it goes into the TV. I don't think that's the problem. If it was, both tail lights would be flickering ;) .

It's most likely at the connection around the light.  I'd start there.
