Goose Point is an Army Corp of Engineers campground located on Philpott Lake west of Bassett/Martinsville, VA along US 57.

 Reservations (//%22http://www.reserveusa.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/nrrs/va/gopo/newindex.html%22)

 Corps Lakes Gateway (//%22http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/visitors/%22)

Loop C has sites adjacent to the water's edge while loop A is higher in elevation.  Loop B is for tenters.

My personal photos (//%22http://www.jwmilne.com/gallery/index.php%22)  has pictures of the campground taken prior to this seasons opening in the Campgrounds section as well as some photos taken during our first stay in the Camping Trips section.

This up and coming week will be our 3rd visit there this season, I'm just way behind on the photos.

W/E hookup is $21 per day and can  handle a 40' MH in some sites.  Completely renovated 4 years ago and is serviced daily by contract cleaners.  Beach area for swiming, group picnic, boat launch, fishing bridge, horseshoes, paved access to sites, level sites with fine gravel and a firering for campfires.

 Hope this helps.
 Jimmy

Jimmy, It seems that ya'll like Goose Point as much as we like Wildwood. This will be our 3rd trip this season, and we have reservations for 2 other weekends. Although, I would like to check out Goose Point some time based solely on the fact that you keep going back!! Martinsville is not really that far away from us, but I don't think it is quite close enough for me to leave after work. WW is only 30 minutes from us so it makes it real easy to leave around 6pm and still have plenty of light to set up camp. Our next trip (afther this weekend) to WW is August 25-27 for their Chili Cook-off. We have done several cook-offs before, but on a much larger scale (and even came in first place once). If anyone is going to be there that weekend come by and get some Chili!!
