Title: HELP low lp pressure
Post by: gadgetadam on Jul 24, 2006, 08:55 PM
I bought a 2006 Fleetwood Sea Pine a few months ago.  Since then I bought a 2nd lp tank and mounted it to the camper but never hooked it up.  I'm camping now and just ran out of LP in the first tank (yes it lasted at least 10+ camping trips).  I connected the hose to the 2nd tank but the pressure is so low I can't use the grill and water heater at the same time.  If the water heater is heating up the water and I turn the grill on the water heater flame sputters and will go out.  It was never this low using the tank that came with the camper!  Please HELP.   I need more pressure so I can make my coffee tomorrow morning.

I suspect that you triggered the safety valve in the tank pigtail. There's device that's designed to limit propane in the event of a leak that can be triggered by turning on the propane to quickly.

Try turning everything off and removing the hose from the tank, reconnect it and slowly turn the gass back on.

That's wierd.

Perhaps one of the quick connect fittings was not seated right and causing a leak? If the stove and/or grill were on a bit when you swapped tanks, that would trigger the flow restrictor as well.

I'm glad you got it working anyway - no caffeine in the morning is a bad thing.
