We are new to Pop Up Times Forums, but not to Camping. In fact I have had PU's so long my first one was a Sears one wheel camper. I have had motor homes, 5th wheelers, pull behinds etc. but I always go back to the pop up it is just so convient and of course when you can only go once in a while the upkeep is minimal. we live on a Ranch here in Howey In The Hills Fla. and really have to stay rather close because we have to come home every morning to feed the horses, goats and other animals. We go to Lake griffin SP mostly as it is close and convient. We usually take our puppy Skippy he is a B.F.M. (beloved family mutt) of unknown origin. I used to work on R.V.'s for a couple of companies in Ocala, Fl. (10 years ago) so I am familiar with the workings of most of the equipment of the older units. I will try to stay up on the posts as often as I can. This is a really good site and i enjoy it. Thanks  Roy & Mary Fralick & Skippy

Welcome to the forums and Happy Camping!! I just have to ask, what the heck is a Sears one wheel camper? A tent in a wheelbarrow?;)

Did a google search, but all I find are Allstate 1 wheel wood box trailers.  Like a utility trailer.  Was it like one of those?  Or was it a pop up?

Welcome Nineoaks  :)
When you said single wheel I immediately thought of the Heilite single wheel.
http://www.singlewheel.com/HeiliteFR.htm (http://www.singlewheel.com/HeiliteFR.htm)
Did sears sell their product for any years?
I know they sold some campers made by Vesely (Apache) in their early days.
Any pics of your Sears single wheel?

New to forum and have a question posted (freezing lines). Had a Viking Little Gasser for 19 years and pretty much used it up:-). No Viking dealers in Potland, Oregon anymore so ended up with an '05 Fleetwood Niagara. I've read complaints about sway with these but I have towed it straight without any sway (ever) as an arrow on several trips at up to 80mph (s-limit +5 to 10) for extended periods with my VW Touareg (doesn't feel like it's even there). Can't wait for an extended trip through Canadian Rockies, Glacier and Yellowstone in Sept.

Hi all, I'm new here too.  Rather than start another thread, I figured it would be better to post here.  We've been tent camping at several places over the last 11 years, and we also rent a cabin annually at the same campground (it's become quite the tradition.)

We'd been toying with the idea of a popup for the last 5 years or so & we finally went for it!  We got a 1998 Jayco, and can't wait to take it out for it's first trip this weekend at Cranberry Lake in the Adirondack Mountains.

In the very short time since I've found this site, it's proven to be a wealth of great information.  So thank you, popup vets, for helping us newbies.  :D  It's much appreciated.
